I "lost" two posts of mine. One older, regarding Galaxy and game time tracking and one recently, very recently, regarding the drop of GOG Downloader!

Those posts were made in threads opened by others! They didn't break any rule, nor were spam/offensive. What gives?

Censorship is everywhere. Youtube, google, facebook, instagram, reddit, spotify, patreon, paypal, steam forums, gog forums, mainstream media.

Censorship on GOG? Is this a thing? Any evidence of this than the generalization anyone?
I'd sooner blame a forum belch than any malice.

Yeah I remember you making a post in the GOG downloader thread, its gone now.
(though I just made a post thats going to get downvoted to hell I just know it)
Yes, the forum sporadically loses functionality and content. The sheer quantity of interaction —— duplicate topics that are identical to old ones pop up frequently —— is probably to blame. I wouldn't be surprised if this current forum is replaced soon with a new version, and all this is archived. Who reads posts from last week, last month or last year?

The forums are indeed in need of a serious overhaul..
I just hope ..really hope.. that it wont be with a Discourse style one. I actually loathe that one.

I agree. That design is far too busy —— a Generation-Alpha palette, with a plethora of flashing text and coloured graphics. I prefer a snapshot like this, with static information and minimal realtime data (turn-based :) which suits unreliable connectivity, too.

That user might've been a bit hyperbolic, but it does happen here.....several threads get locked with no reason or flimsy reasons given, certain speech is forbidden for various vague and/or possibly arbitrary reasons by the site rules, posts get edited or deleted....etc.

But GOG's forum/GOG's rules, so their choice to make.

Sometimes I do.......not usually to reply, though....just to read them for fun, most times.

Although yeah, any non-major(like releases/etc) thread that hasn't been posted to in over a year should probably be moved to an the archives.

I think most of the push-back you are referring to is just people looking to avoid "discussions" between people who hold mutually exclusive opinions, which always end in flame. This site is for games, not a proxy for political, religious or even gender discussions. People come here for gaming, not to play rhetorical games for political points. A lot of your posts, as well meaning as you might be, are seen as a platform for others to make mischief, hence their unpopularity and your frequent "unexplained" locking of the conversations you start.

Ever since Google became a force for advertizing, rather than fact-finding, they have edited their algorithm to make searching deliver predicable (bankable) results. This has crippled the search function. I prefer DuckDuckGo,* but sometimes even I must provide the Great Satan with an update to their shadow profile of my online activity (by using their search engine, directly).
