For many years, ad-blocking tools such as Ublock Origin are no longer an option, but a necessity. If a site adds ads, chances are you'll not even notice if you have such tools running. Unless, surely, if ads are very intrusive, but in this case, chances are the site will start breaking itself.

I use uBlock Origin, but I have it disabled on GOG.com lol.
Yeah, I have ad-blocking disabled for gog.com and never have seen any pop-ups/pop-outs, aside from that annoying "preview" thing when browsing the store.
Update: Another day, another popup.
This time I was able to do a bit of code inspection.
GOG uses the services of SALESmanago, a "Customer Data & Marketing Automation Platform".

Consequently, I manually added "salesmanago.com" and "gog.salesmanago.com" to my adblock filter list. Hopefully that fixes it.

SargonAelther: There are some new popups on GOG.com, but I can't say that they have ever interrupted me from doing anything.

The main two types are:
ROKT-powered ads that pop up AFTER you've made a purchase, or redeemed a game. These have been confirmed by GOG Staff.
• GOG Sale Reminders that pop up on the bottom right side of the website (see attachment). These do not appear to be library-aware, because it advertised games that I already own.
Yeah - I just encountered the "ROKT" ones. While I 'appreciate' that GOG is invested in finding ways of 'saving us money' with programs like this, it really does interrupt the flow of the transaction.
