I'm new to GOG so sorry if I come off as overly frustrated...and dumb haha.

I recently purchased Rollercoaster Tycoon: Deluxe. It's currently sitting in my library but I'm confused as to what I do next. There's no "play" link or anything that suggests that. Do I need to download something else? I was under the impression I did all I needed to do. It was only $6 but it's starting to look like a waste of money. Also, I don't want to download GOG Galaxy.

What do I do from here?

If you don't want to download Galaxy then you need to download the game and install it manually.

If you click on the title in your library you should be given a list of files to download (probably just one installer and some extras for Rollercoaster Tycoon I'd assume). If you click on the installer it will download it.
Once downloaded, open the file and it should ask you to install the game to your computer.
You should then get a shortcut on your desktop (and in your start menu) to play the game.

Hope that helps :)
Hey Mattador ( :

You don't have to install galaxy, don't worry about that.

Just go to Account --> Library at top of the screen.
You'll see the game sitting on your library shelf.
From there, you can download and install it.

It's fairly simple. Follow the steps in the attached images (pretend I'm talking about Rollercoaster Tycoon, obviously).
If you just want a "play" button, you will need a client like Galaxy. That's the trade-off: simplicity and automation for control and hard drive space/system resources.

Good luck!

adaliabooks, FrodoBaggins, and HunchBluntly -- thank you very much for your helpful responses!

I attempted to dl GOG Galaxy, and it froze haha. Then I went to my library and was (finally) able to dl the game from there. I'm no computer expert (duh!) but I think the issue was the computer itself, not the website. After the dl I went to try out the game. I only spent a few minutes because I don't have the time now but it looks to working just fine. Super excited about it.

Thank you all again. I honestly was about to just give up and ask for my money back. Your quick, and positive, responses made me change my mind. Virtual high fives all around.

One of the most common reasons for Galaxy freezing, is trying to connect to GOG online when it starts both to look for updates and to connect to your account. If you have a firewall running that blocks that outbound request, it will sit there hung for a while (like most programs) and appear to have something wrong with it. Arguably they could do something more user friendly when this happens, but you need to allow it through any firewall, and make sure any antivirus/antimalware also does not interfere with it.

Interesting insight, skeletonbow. Fortunately I was able to work around the 'freeze.' So far it's been a handful of days and I haven't had any issues yet!
