Sadly, today there is too little of nature around. In my childhood I've met a dozen of those guys (though I don't think it's a locust). After construction of new buildings around my house much has changed.

In the camera I have a picture of the exact same thing; one of those green bugs sitting in the kitchen ceiling. Now if I only knew where the camera was I could show proof.

Is it still too soon for '90s nostalgia?

I tried capturing with a glass and a piece of paper. But I just didn't feel like going into the glass, and suddenly it just jumped. I got scared that it might injure itself, but it landed perfectly on my left foot. How did it pull that off? I finally convinced it that walking into the glass was a splendid idea. And I finally got it out of the house.
Man, I live such an exciting life!

The locus has smaller antennae, bigger eyes, its a vegetarian and active at day time. Locus can multiply very rapidly and pose a threat to crops. Its rarely green. The best use for them is - feed them to the chicken or use for fishing.
Grasshoper on other side is carnivorous, green, hunts smaller bugs at night using its long antennae and weaker eyes. It can also bite if provoked (locus ejects non-digested grass instead from mouth-opening).
Yours definitely looks like grasshoper, I got two a few weeks ago and let them all out into the grass.
