tfishell: Vote counts for the Yakuza games range from about 840 to 300. Assuming Starfield is at least somewhat well-received, I'm sure GOG would love to get it here and doesn't really care about votes for it.
Yeah I doubt GOG see it as a must have lots of votes, and of course many customers never even bother to vote.

And no doubt there is a bit of opportunity knocks going on, and some personal GOG staff bias, all of which would impact priorities. They certainly have a huge list of games to select from, which cannot be processed overnight or even in days, and would be years in some cases. I suspect GOG have a working list, much like my reading list, where I slot something new in sometimes and often unexpected. In theory at least, I imagine games slowly creep up the list.

In general though, I believe that community wishlist votes are still a factor and can play an important part, but you cannot count on just them, as other factors would be at play too.

SargonAelther: Telltale went bankrupt around 2017 or something and thus lost all their licenses. Their games were delisted everywhere.
For a while the Walking Dead series was exclusive to Epic (the short period between delisting and the definitive edition launch).

Timboli:
It's pretty clear that the wishlist counts for getting a game on their radar only if it's not really known, so indies with little marketing and "forgotten" / "hidden gem" classics with several hundred votes may get their attention when without those votes they wouldn't have been looking for them. And it may also sway them if the game was submitted to them and they were inclined to reject it, or already had, after all there have been some such cases. In fact this may be the most obvious impact of the wishlist, really.
But otherwise, for AA+, known classics or games that for whatever other reason got some hype, they're aware and trying, so if it's a matter of the publisher refusing, maybe massive numbers of votes, thinking of tens of thousands, may be an argument, but otherwise won't matter. (Of course, if it's a matter of rights hell or some licenses expiring or being unable to get it to work on modern systems, wishlist is irrelevant. Same if the publisher is clearly opposed to DRM-free or to publishing on more stores as a matter of principle.)
Yh, old good Tony Hawk 2 , I was great at this, we played on shared computer and it was fun!

And of course, GOG may even use the number of votes to help with their bargaining.

It may even be the case, that those pondering providing to GOG, look at the number of Wishlist votes for their game.

It wouldn't hurt for us to be more proactive than we are maybe, when it comes to adding our vote for a game. Votes may count in more ways than one, and have more impact than we realize.
Looking at the trajectory of the Sun and the Moon, probably somewhere in 2031.; if GOG will even exist then!

One of my favorite games of all time. I think I played this more than any of its beta testers. Got over 1M points in the hangar once :D

rtcvb32: i didn't care about FO4 before, and i don't care about it now that it's here.

This is mostly due to how the game was made (terrible conversations where you don't know what you're saying, no real options except one path, etc)
Yeah, the dialogue is mostly garbage, but at least there's a mod that changes the pickable dialogue options to what your character actually says.

So i heard a while back; But i also recall THE BIG THING was them taking ideas from modders where you can build your own defensive base to defend from. And that was the big selling point. (Curiously it feels that single aspect was ripped out to make Fortnite..).

Still doesn't seem like enough to really get me interested.

So far I'm not a fan of that feature either. I haven't played that much yet, but I'm definitely not keen on storing my items in one of these bases anymore, I'm pretty sure NPCs steal items like guns, armour etc. from containers.
