I can't seem to find where you turn notifications on?

Does not seem to be under settings...

The general "notification for new posts in a thread" is that the letters of the thread's title are lighter.
If there are no new posts to a thread - the thread's title is greyed out (see attachment).

Edit: to clarify - if a thread's title is greyed out, it means nobody has posted anything in said thread, since you last visited it.

If someone responded to a comment of yours - you'll see an arrow pointing to the thread's title (see attachment 2).

AFAIK there is no option to enable/disable either of these on your own.

Sorry, I was not clear.
I meant email notification of a post.

I don't think that setting is available. You just need to manually check the forum for that notification.

No such setting. If you get a reply to a post, you'll typically note the purple notification dot.

Besides, this is a forum, not some quaint mailing list; those are a dying breed.

Every other forum I am a member of has the feature to alert on a reply to a thread.
When one is a member of many forums, it would be a pain to visit each frequently.

If I am notified of a reply, I can respond instantly if I wish.

Probably why Discord is displacing forums, just for that immediate knowledge, without resorting to such passe utilities like email...
