Hi all,
I figured this thread might help show interest in having Cruelty Squad come to GOG :) Developed and released in 2021 by indie studio Consumer Softproducts, this "immersive power fantasy simulator with tactical stealth elements" - but let's just stick to the catchier "immersive sim" label - is a remarkable accomplishment that is both old school and ferociously relevant to the contemporary era.
Aesthetically, it's wild and purposefully going in the opposite direction of the "leet graphics" of AAA games. Which isn't to say it doesn't use the Godot engine well. The RPS review states that "Cruelty Squad is a maximum effort shitpost wearing a puke stained Rainbow Six t-shirt". From a gameplay perspective, some have gone so far as to describe it as a streamlined, faster-paced Deus Ex (referring to the original in that series).
You can look up the details elsewhere - I just want to hammer home the point that this game is really the kind of thing you'd expect on GOG, so I sure hope it will eventually find its way here, legally DRM-free.
Let's make some noise, people, and happy new year!
