gogtrial34987: FYI, ubuntu packages for 18.04 can still be downloaded from packages.ubuntu.com - e.g. from the
search results for libjson on bionic-updates,
rtcvb32: Good to know. I do hope all packages are kept for archival purposes and compatibility. Though apt is nice where it will also say what's required and add said packages.
Guess it doesn't matter, the combined packages i downloaded
are here, i just didn't want a floating download link that may not work in the future left here. Though my site is gone too so i gotta get that up again.
tar file includes:
gir1.2-json-1.0_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
libcrypto++6_5.6.4-8_amd64.deb
libjson-c3_0.12.1-1.3ubuntu0.3_amd64.deb
libjson-glib-1.0-0_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
libjson-glib-1.0-common_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_all.deb
libjson-glib-dev_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
libssl1.0.0_1.0.2n-1ubuntu5.10_amd64.deb
rtcvb32: If there's anything missing/needed we can try to add/append to the tar, makes me wonder if the i386 would be preferred, but I'm not sure. I originally thought i was getting the source files which are compiled when you install them (
since i hadn't specified x64) but guess not.

Since three of the packages have a later version it is not possible to make the game Baldur’s Gate: enhanced Edition work without changes. This applies to UBUNTU 22.04 and I think it is the same for 20.04, but that it worked in 18.04.
I tried to look at the shell script but it is huge. 2.9 GB. Emacs chokes on it. Gedit and Notepad++ choke on it. I’m a bit rusty at VIM. I thought about searching out the lines referring to the obsoleted packages.
What editor was used with these?
