ive been googling for about half an hour to no avail so i decided to ask here, where all the classic gaming people gather -

i have a vague memory of playing a time travel game in the 90s. it was a third person action adventure game and you would travel to different time periods. i forget why you were time traveling but once you were there you needed to use the weapons they had in the time period to get through the level. so if you were in cavemen times you had rocks to throw and a stick to poke with, but when you were in Rome during the bronze age you would get a sword and a shield. thats about all i remember since it was actually just the demo and after completing the first 2 or 3 stages it would end by showing a preview of all the other time periods you could go to in the full game which included modern times and using guns and possibly even going to the future with space weapons?

i played that demo over and over again since my parents didnt want to buy video games very often. i thought about seeing if GOG has it but i cant even remember the name. anyone remember this game?

and for reference its definitely not Outcast. the vibes were very similar but this time travel game was a number of years prior to Outcast. and i dont think there were aliens.

THATS IT! seeing the ammo in the screenshot reminded me of the third level in the demo - the old west.

i wonder if i can edit this post and put a solved tag on it. thanks a bunch.
