It will be great when US copyright goes back to 7 years instead of lifetime plus 70 years after your death.

In the countless measures of time during which I have existed, some few years of waiting is as nothing. It is certain that I will have sufficient time in which to partake of them all. But then, being a part of, and a contributor to, this marvelous creation is a wiser determination, than sitting idle and indulging in "movies" created by mortals.

Not even sure it's a matter of detracting from their mission. I suspect your hypothesis of revenue is on point. They haven't put on a new movie since soon after their initial rollout, so they probably don't make enough sales to justify payment processing to the rights-holders.

GOG should have never gone in the direction of movies in the first damned place.
I'm not sure what that rant came from. UHD Blu-Ray players are backward compatible with both Blu-Ray and DVD, and they can really upscale nicely. No need to be so melodramatic.

It is a sad day and I think most of the blame falls on GOG for relegating it to a separate section that was unknown and hard to find and a lot of these titles have nowhere else to be. Didn't even know if was gone till now. It would have done better as a gaming genre. I do believe gaming culture still has a place on GOG and will feature as DLC from time to time.

I wonder what will happen with new accounts and the section Movies, this simple vanishes from the profile or there is a zero as number.

Hmm.. it's a shame.. there's a few I would of love to see appear.. First Person Shooter Definitive FPS Documentary, Viva Amiga, maybe some retro themed shows like Gamecenter CX, starcade.. guess we'll never know. Cheers!

Well, what do existing accounts show, if no movies were ever purchased?
Probably the same, that an empty wishlist shows: nothing (see attachment).

And if I click on my (empty) "Wishlist" entry, I get a message presented: YOUR WISHLIST IS CURRENTLY EMPTY

My best guess is, if someone with a new (created-after-the-delisting-of-all-movies) account clicks on the "Movies" entry, they probably get shown a GOG bear or a similar message, saying something like "You currently don't own any movies", or such (if that entry will be clickable at all on new accounts).

You can still see the movies item in the dropdown menu. Clicking it shows pic related.

To be honest, I don't know why some of the movies, not related to gaming or a game, were even available at GOG.

And while I managed to get around 10 movies over time, it was only ever the free of cheap ones. Most of the movies on offer, and there was quite a number of them once, were always too expensive, especially for what they were.

I'd like to have seen more game related movies or videos, and for far better prices, and a good number of free ones.

Movies or videos, if decent could well sell many games.

Many games of course come with a 'making of' video etc, but you only get that after buying the game.
