Im aware of Dauntless and God Eater. Any other "hunt-like" game with good loot and quests like Monster Hunter?
(close to hack'n'slash, hardcore gameplay, etc)

Searching for good recomendations in that area. :)

--edit

If anybody else is also interested, here's the recomendations until now of games with "hunting"-like mechanics in them, which might be enjoyed by Monster Hunter fans:

Witcher 3
Final Fantasy XII (others in the series also have hunts? I don't know.)
Dauntless
Godeater series
Toukiden series
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Horizon Zero Dawn

Toukiden 1 and 2....Not available here and also they are kind of expensive even when they receive a discount... They have some interesting mechanics and weapons...If you are interested watch some gameplay videos....Note: Toukiden 1 is locked at 30 fps due to the game engine.
I want to say Dragon's Dogma, but I've yet to play it. It looks fun though.

I will search for it, thanks!

It's on my to-buy list hehe :)
Thank you.
Monster Hunter World?

The Witcher.3 (kind of but not really)

Ff XII has a monster hunter side quest that lasts essentially the whole game.

No way im giving Steam more money with World and Iceborn. I rather wait and buy a Switch to play MHGU then give Steam money again. lol :P

But yeah, FF XII is great. One of the best games of all times. Played in the PS2 back then and completed all hunts already, just couldn't beat the "Final" hunt, Yiazmat. That thing was tanky!

Witcher 3 is on the list too! ^^

FF12: Worst FF up to that point, only surpassed in badness of the series by 13[+2,3] and 15. Also, I'm not sure where anyone can get a Monster Hunter vibe out of it. So there are a couple quests to kill a monster, a couple of which are big. They're nothing Monster Hunter like about it. It's still just the [very bad] FF12 combat system, except the enemy's HP were pushed "over 9000" and for some of them it literally takes hours to chip away their pile o'health.

I'm having trouble thinking of Monster Hunter type games for PC that haven't been listed. At least not ones that aren't gacha MMO's with a stupendous grind factor.

I will say that Dragon's Dogma is more a single player open world rpg with some hunting elements. You don't gather materials to craft new gear, the materials are used to upgrade gear you find as drops/quest rewards or purchase. The story based stuff seems heavily inspired by The Elder Scrolls games and various Bioware titles, but the quality of the character interactions are quite noticably impacted (compared to Bioware) by the desire to also appeal to loot grinding. The combat with large enemies is what makes the game really stand out, especially the freeform climbing (though that also leads to some silly stuff).

DD is a fun game if you're prepared for what it offers, but don't go into it thinking it's that similar to Monster Hunter (or Dauntless/God Eater).

I have yet to try Toukiden, but given that they're 2014 & 2017 titles and still being sold for 60€ and on Steam only, I guess it will be quite a while before I will.

To me it was a special game, as I played a lot in the PS2 back then.
Compared to the previous ones, I can't say, as this was my first Final Fantasy. So, heavy nostalgia blinds me to what may be the truth.
Chrono Trigger was my first JRPG, and if I compare it to that game, indeed, Chrono Trigger, representing classic rpg mechanics, is more complex in some areas than FFXII.

Still, FFXII had a good (and more mature) story and it was fun to make builds with it's Gambit mechanics, also allowing freedom if you don't want to use it. (Idk about the new Zodiac System, as it seems now everything is limited to Jobs or Classes, which, imho sucks for build freedom and experimentation, but again, classic rpgs also limits people to characters builds.)

And, yes, they aren't like each other, but the "Hunt" mini game in FFXII was fun and long enough to enter in this theme of hunts, so it's a good recomendation in this point too.

Just searched for Toukiden and it is like a copy paste of Monster Hunter with oriental theme. Or if Dragon's Dogma, Samurai Warriors and Monster Hunter had a baby. haha

Big oof for Toukiden then. I only searched for gameplay videos. The best bet is Dragon's Dogma then, as it is here on GOG too.
My hands are almost 'shaking' to play something like Monster Hunter. I miss the Freedom Unite hunts. :)
Unfortunately, the only way to play Monster Hunter now without ps4 or steam, is with a Switch.

Ok. You didn't specify that in your first message. I'll see if I can think of any others not on Steam.
I haven't played Monster Hunter or even know much about it. But have you looked at Horizon Zero Dawn? Maybe that would fit?
The closest game to MH series that's widely available is Godeater, and the newest one is Godeater 3, but I don't think it's available here. I own it on steam.

Thanks and sorry for not specifying that. Turns out I don't see many games like MH here in GOG, which is a shame.
