AOC G2778X. 2560x1440 resolution. 27". 60Hz, Freesync. Has all the connections, great image and size. Needed a upgrade from my old 20" VGA-screen, so I bought it used for around 100 Euros. Been very happy with it.

I also have a AOC G2590 24,5" 1920x1080 144Hz Freesync that I fire up when I need two screens.

BenQ V2220H 21.5" LED 1920x1080p 60Hz with HDMI/DVI/VGA inputs, and audio out, which served as my main monitor (desktop + laptops +TV box) for about 5 years, up to about 2 years ago. But still gets used on occasions, like right now.

BenQ GL2760 27" LED 1920x1080p 60Hz with HDMI/DVI/VGA inputs, and audio out, which is the replacement to the monitor above (yes, I like BenQ monitors...), and was only bought as a size upgrade (and everything else kept the same), but is currently boxed up, as I have only recently returned home and haven't had time to unpack properly...

dtgreene: I actually got a DVI to HDMI adapter so I could connect my desktop to two monitors; a bigger one it shares with this Raspberry Pi, and a smaller one that's right by the computer. (Computer has one HDMI, one DVI, and one VGA. In case you're wondering, audio comes via USB speakers.)

Also, how about this display device, which even supports 4K:

(This one isn't in stock, but you can find similar devices, in backs of multiples, on sites like Amazon and Newegg.)
I'm not saying DVI is obsolete or anything, it's just that I do prefer my connectors with less worries of stripping either end of the connector.
My main gaming rig has a Quasar Sq3208 31.5" 720p HD TV. I picked this TV up brand new many years ago from a President's day sale when it was $54.99. I like it a lot. The only drawback is that my resolution for my main gaming rig is 1360 x 768 but this has worked out well for me since it's less strenuous on my eyes. I have a pair of Logitech Z200 speakers connected since I don't like the sound quality of the Quasar. I have 2 wired Logitech F310s on cable guy mounts of Captain America and Akuma (custom job off of Ryu).

Living Room HTPC has a Panasonic Viera TC-P50S30 50" Internet-ready 1080p plasma HDTV. This has been a great TV for gaming and multimedia in the living room. It was a gift from one of my eldest kids and I don't know what they paid for it. It was replacing a very old TUBE TV that we use to use that has now been converted to an art shelf pieces that holds up the current TV/Monitor. The sound on it is not great so I connected it to an old set of Logitech Z-4 2.1 Speaker System which works out excellently for the living room space and area that we have. There are 4 Logitech F710s on custom cable guy mounts of Ryu (Original), Evil Ryu, Ken and Chun-li. There is a pullout draw in the custom shelf with 4 other Logitech F710s for games that are 4+ players.

Bed Room HTPC has Sanyo 40" Class FHD 1080P LED TV model FW40D48F. This is the most recent TV added to our home back in 2019. Picked it up on sale for $75 at Microcenter during a back to school sale. This one is also very well made. It is connect to a Harman Kardon SoundSticks III 2.1 Speaker System that we got as a gift from neighbors. It's excellent for music, movies and 2 player co-op games in bed using our 2 Logitech F710s on Iron Man and Black Widow cable guy mounts.

Back Yard screen is a LG HF80JA Laser Smart Home Theater CineBeam projector. This is brand new as I recently move and gave my old LG projector to my old neighbor. I just tried this 2 weeks ago and so far so good. I have a roller cart with gamepads and Raspberry Pi 4 in a custom mini-PC case loaded with games and access to Plex, Youtube, movies, shows and music on my local Ubuntu server. I have a giant no name brand speakers that connect via of aux that has been with me since 2008 and it's excellent for the small backyard that I have.

So I take it that display scaling/DPI is not an option?

Arcadius-8606: ack Yard screen is a projector but since it's not a monitor I will leave it out.
It counts.

That reminds me that maybe half a year ago someone had left an ancient 32" Sony Bravia TV (KDL-32S2800, made in 2007) on the ground floor, with a note "Works ok, the remote controller is missing. Take it."

So I did, before anyone else did. I figured I might just as well use it as a monitor for one of my laptops, even though the TV's top resolution is only 1366x768. It would have been perfect as a big monitor if it had had 1920x1080 support... It has two HDMI ports, the lack of remote control doesn't matter much in non-TV use as it has pretty good control buttons on top of the TV etc.

My wife was angry at me for scavenging yet another piece of old electronics to fill our home. I have a soft spot for such, as long as they work and are free... That's how I've gotten so many old laptops too. It is like seeing a puppy on the street that people are neglecting, these old pieces of working hardware are like stray puppies to me, except that they don't bite and shit around. Of course if the piece of hardware, or a puppy, is dead, then I have no desire to bring it home. Yuck!

Anyway, in the end it has served mostly as the display for my kids' Nintendo Switch that I bought for them last Christmas. Works fine for that purpose, even if 1920x1080 resolution would be preferable even for Switch.

But damn that Sony Bravia is thick and heavy (for a flatscreen TV), and produces quite a bit of heat in use. But, free is free.

That reminds me that some people are so nice, giving out free stuff. From one of my friends, I already got a high end amplifier and big-ass wooden stereos to go with it, and just last Saturday that same guy gave me a bicycle he said has been just sitting in his garage for a few years unusused.

I thought why not, I don't have a bicycle right now, but I was still a bit surprised it appears to be some higher end bicycle for serious users, with aluminum body and all. And it seemed to be in a very good condition too.

I was expecting it to be some rusty bicycle that cost 100€ new, 15 years ago...

I messed with various settings and I can get the display to 1920 x 1080 but it hurts my eyes after 30 mins.

I edited and added info on the projector.
Some Song SingMaster something something. A telly but I never use the TV or loudspeaker (truly awful sound) parts of it.

It works. I kind of wish it would stop doing so as I could then buy a new(er) monitor with adaptable synch and 144MHz refresh rate. The stand is terrible, utter rubbish with no adjustability. Thankfully such problems are solvable.

Off topic but I felt compelled.

I do a bit that myself but I often don't keep it all since I get so much. Though I sold them a good amount of my LAN setup in the past of 8 to 16 rigs in my hold home were free computers from work or hand me downs from friends or stuff I found a fixed.

I do the same with bikes. I find them all the time and ppl in my old neighborhood would often bring them to me when they no longer want them and I will freshen them up and either sell them at low cost or give them away.

I also hit CL Free often. I have 3 adjustable folding standing desk from Jarvis. A dental office was moving and had everything in his place for grabs. No one came. I was able to get a 70 inch TV that was wall mounted (I had to remove) and pass it on to my 2nd eldest son who was super happy. Took home these excellent desk. One for me. One for my wife and a spare for guest.
