There is a product called Wet Water that is regularly used in fire fighting. It is just a brand name for a Class A foam used on Class A fires. Generally Class A foams are products that reduce the surface tension of the water, which results in better saturation and adherence. This helps extinguish the fire, and helps prevent re-ignition. These products are commonly referred to as wetting agents.
Oh great, dtgreene just broke the frikken universe.
Oh OldFatGuy trix are for kids!

javihyuga: The only thing that actually makes water wetter is a flamethrower melting ice cubes, and 9 out of 10 dentists agree on this.
It's 4 out of 5 dentists.

As it happens 4 out of 5 dentists think the other one smells funny.

Wishbone: So, it doesn't contain any chemicals? What exactly does it contain, then? Some kind of special esoteric matter hitherto unknown to science?

Oh yes, and of course it's "all natural", which is automatically a good thing. You know what else is all natural? Snake venom, uranium, lava... Lots of things you'd really prefer not to make any personal contact with.
Shhhh! Ancient Amish secret!
Alternatively, if you need to make your water less wet, you could always dehydrate it.

That reminds me of my mint tea baglets; they happen to claim the tea was made with natural plants (as what, opposed to synthetic ones?). I nearly choked to death laughing when I first discovered...

I actually find this subject rather interesting, being a first year chemistry student :p

It's still all-but-one, same as 79 out of 80.

The phrase does actually make sense, though not sure if those that wrote it understand it. You can start here for more info.

They might well understand it perfectly. In cooling systems, the higher the wetting the better, since it makes for better contact and hence better heat transfer, assuming I understand the concept correctly. Actually, looking at the page, I'm quite sure they know exactly what they're talking about. Nothing to see here.

It's always 4 out of 5 dentists. I don't know why, but that's always the number they use in advertising, probably because it's low enough to be achievable, but sounds rather impressive.

OldFatGuy: So I'm sitting at home watching the MLB channel when suddenly a commercial comes on and I see the greatest product ever produced!!!! It makes water wetter!!!!!

Yessiree, you know you're living in a free market, neoliberal "paradise" when companies can legally claim in a commercial that their product "makes water wetter!" (Start at the 43 second mark to get right to it.)

WOW! Makes water wetter!!!!

JHFC, I remember the bad old days when we here in the US obviously lived under communism/socialism hell when commercial speech could actually be regulated and it was illegal to make such absurd and untrue claims.

What a fucking world. Makes water wetter. JHFC on a stick.
Tha'ts easy, just soak it in water.
