Yes... you can run an already installed GOG Dosbox game by installing the 64 bit DOSBox and cd ing into the GOG package in the /Applications/ area in the terminal and then running DOSBox mounting the C.harddisk folder in there. So it requires a little work but all the DOSBox stuff is usable for the most part.

Another piece of good news is that CrossOver has an Alpha for Catalina ; you can install a DOSBox based game directly into a CrossOver bottle as well as windows games. A lot of old windows games ran well on a fast Mac with CrossOver in Mojave. So I am hoping CrossOver gets a truly solid version going on 64-bit at some point.

And as mentioned; there is always boot camp if you are willing to dual boot for gaming.

I recently got a Macbook Pro mid-2015 and it had Mojave so I put Catalina on it. Because I am new to Mac I was testing all sorts of things out an eventually got to games. Some worked properly and some did not even start. When I ended up doing was creating a new volume using disk utility and then booted up with a USB Mojave install and installed it to the new volume. Once it was installed I could boot between them and can now run games that are only 32bit on the Mac if I want to. Of course you need to have access to the Mojave installer to do this. Fun stuff.

Also, if you go this method make sure your Mojave update settings are NOT set to auto update or it may want to move you to Catalina.
