The description kinda reminded me of Haunting Ground but that's an old game and not 1st person.
Have fun while browsing this list : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_horror_video_games

And since we are on Gog : https://videogamecritic.com/halloween.htm

TheMonkofDestiny: I realize that but that's about as vague as "I remember this but not this" unfortunately.
That data was overwritten. What of that is vague?!
ADDED: I watched that video about two years ago. Maybe you can tell a lot of details after two years, I can't. :-\

I thought that somebody would come straight up saying that is <TITLE>. Unfortunately that didn't happen.
So thanks for those lists! I'll check those.

However, I am (and will be) still grateful for getting hints in this forum!

You're right, it's a different game.

Vague in the sense that you don't mention if you browsed YouTube while logged in with a Google account. If you did, you'd have this at your disposal.

No, I only login to google when it's absolutely necessary. That's usually not the case when I want to watch videos. So there is no google logging of what I watched.

Anyhow, you wrote

on how to go through their browser history
That's not the same, "browser history" is usually local, "browsing history" will most probably be logged somewhere else, too.

Good, I know something new now. However, it won't help here.

xyz123: looking for the name of a horror game
I spent a lot of time trying to remember the name of a game, which I thought, might be the one you're looking for.

Turned out, neither does it seem to feature a killer who's sentenced to death, nor does it seem to feature a level inside a cave.

But after spending so much time on it, I will post its name here anyway. ;p

Get Even.

Probably not, but Outlast Whistleblower maybe? ;) It features seeing killer playing with corpse.

Do you remember anything else than what you listed already? Maybe killer's outfit?

IIRC the "doctor" handles a dead corpse. In "Outlast Whistleblower" he actively kills people while the PC witnesses that, respectively the doctor "handles" the PC itself in "Outlast WB".

There is a scene where the PC moves at night through the landscape with having high rocks - about 10m / 33 feet high - on the right side, where that person seemingly watches the PC from a distance. IIRC the graphics was black/white/greenish in that scene (not sure). I remember the part with the person watching because the guy who made the walkthrough went dilirious, being scared, saying "OMG there is a guy on the mountain watching me" (in german language) several times. On the way further he did see / the walkthrough video showed that figure several times again along the way the PC took outside.

Well, maybe there is a scene taking place in a tunnel of the metro (underground train) You and a few other persons moved in the tunnels between stations, I can not remember if you fled. But I rather think that that was in an other games walkthrough I watched (roughly) at that same time ... or it was part of "my" game"...

The cloth of the guy which took the body apart was - again I really am not sure - white, maybe like doctors wear in hospitals or like butchers do (skirting). Sure about this: He was white (caucasian), rather tall or average, not overweight neither skinny.
And that guy/killer (not a real doctor) does not talk to the PC but rather speaks "into the room".

BTW: I did not find the scene I described above (watcher on the hill) in "The Park". Maybe the player in the walkthrough of "The Patk" didin't notice the person on the rocks because that is not a cut scene and it's not so much leaping to the eye. Or the atmosphere is just very similar and "The Park" was not even "partly" the game I am looking for.

I'll try to remeber more and post it later if there is something...

Some more games that might fit your description:
Cry of Fear
Dear Esther
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

HoangMarcel: Dear Esther
It's not a horror game, no matter how the narrative randomizes itself.

It does have the easter egg "ghosts" though.

Cry of Fear - this might be it!
I need to skip through the whole walkthrough @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7iJ7CZfVE4 in order ro find the "butcher" and the "watcher" scene as well as if one of the endings takes place in a huge (high) cave...
And there is much fighting...

Dear Esther:
The caves are great and there are very big areas (high and wide) but they are not those in the game I'm looking for. Apart from that there are NPCs in that game - in "Dear Esther" you are alone on an island (the ghosts do not count).

The_Vanishing_of_Ethan_Carter:
I skimmed through a walkthrough and it unfortunately is not that game.

Hm - I can't remember those scenes from when I played Cry of fear, but that has been quite a long time ago...and the game has other game modes/ sidestorys, I never played. However, it's free so you can just give it a shot :)

But if it turns out, that's not the game you're looking for, then maybe some of it's mods OR a Half Life Mod.
HL has some horror themed mods as well - Cry of fear started out as one of them, before it was a stand-alone game - so it's the same engine and would look quite similar.
