Long time ago I've discovered some specific title, but unfortunately I can't remind its title. It was an FPS game, very similar to such games as Doom or Rise of the Triad (DOS version), in fact I was strongly convinced, that it was Rise of the Triad, but nope, I've checked it recently it wasn't it.

The very characteristic thing was, that this game had split-screen mode for 2 players (deathmatch, if I remember correctly). DISCLAIMER - I'm almost sure for 100% that it was DOS game, but even if it wasn't - it surely looked (and sounded) like one of those DOS FPS games (like those which I've mentioned before).

And it wasn't Target (Target's engine is more similar to Duke Nukem 3D and it was working under Windows).

Many thanks for any help/finding title of this game.

Gloom Deluxe had split screen, and it's kind of similar to RoTT.

Nope, it's not that title. For 100% it was game for PC.
Was it Gunmetal?

The DOS version, not the Xbox game by the same name.

The only other DOS game I can think of with native split-screen and first-person perspective is Slipstream 5000.

Unfortunately, it's not that Gunmetal too, I remember that wasn't "mech inside" (or any "vehicular"), but "on foot" FPS (so it's not Slipstream either).

What a surprise, I've found it! It was Chacal 3D... And it was unofficial game based on Doom, but with split-screen as only mode available to play (not too many screenshots, but I've found one on Doom Wiki):
