timppu: Awww, I would have known this one... I have installed it and even played a couple of missions, but got distracted. I have it from DotEmu, I don't recall if I installed that one or the free remake(?).
HereForTheBeer: Really good game.
timppu: Do I remember right you or someone else here complaining how important it becomes to keep your units alive from mission to mission (so that they become stronger veteran units or something?) and if you don't you'll be screwed?
I'm still too early in the game to tell if there is such problem.
In the campaign, yes. I wouldn't call.it a problem necessarily, but simply one of the campaign mechanics. Early on you're faced with dropship type missions, where you start with a limited number of units available but can build more sort of offscreen. Later you'll have some established territory and will.have active bases. In both instances, experienced units are key to survival, as you're eventually really behind the technology curve.
That said, the skirmish game is more like a traditional rts in that you can start even with the competition (or not, by choosing resource and ai options).
