This publisher is responsible for releasing many reactivations/remakes/sequels of once-acclaimed or completely new yet seemingly successful games, like Spellforce, Titan Quest, Elex, Darksiders I/II/III, Guild 3, Victor Vran, Ori, Pillars of Eternity II, and a few others.

But is it me only or THQ Nordic took on JoWood's qualities after they absorbed the latter, always performing below the commonly accepted level? Their releases are always obviously hurried up, full of technical bugs, botched translations (man, just see Elex in English for yourself), issues with specific hardware, and their technical support is non-existent.

And the best part is, they really don't seem to connect with the communities anywhere, no matter the medium.

Let me know what do you think of this publisher, please.

INB4 "Ur stupid" or "U TOOOO!!!!111one"-themed "remarks" will be entirely ignored.
So far I like what I'm seeing from them. Yes, some of the stuff has some bugs, but that's to be expected; And they do have a presence here usually when they release something new.
They have mixed results with their releases as most publishers and yes their lack of communication is a common complaint but aside from that i haven't had a bad experience with most of their titles from a technical standpoint.

Elex had a few bugs early on but nothing serious, it has been running smooth and i haven't encountered much bugs at all unlike Bethesdas games, i'm fairly certain THQ Nordic only has publishing rights and Piranha Bytes retain ownership over the IP.

PoE II is published by Versus Evil atleast on PC and runs fine for me, launch was a little rough but nothing like many other recent releases.

Titan Quest Anniversary and Darksiders 1 Warmastered has always run fine for me and i haven't seen that many complaints about them.

Darksiders 2 Deathinitive and Darksiders 3 is another story though, haven't played 3 yet only heard but 2 was very buggy atleast the remaster.

Then they have a few bland games in their portfolio like Spellforce 3, Darksiders 3 and Guild 3 doesn't seem especially good among others, overall i don't think they're bad and definately not on the level with Jowood as a crap publisher but they can improve certainly.

Please, don't bring Bethesda to this. It's on entirely another level than any other publisher. Their games were always full of bugs, errors, inconsistencies, discrepancies and stuff, but after Fallout 76, it's like a completely new story of crappiness. Though, their T: FS and SkyNET were beyond good for their times (and I liked these more than the first Quake).

Anyhoo, I really think they could improve. Maybe focus on a selected few creators and publish only their games. And definitely better translation teams, that for sure.
Seems like they have a mix of buggy and okay games.I love that some of these old series are getting revitalized, but hopefully they'll lean more to the less buggy side in the future. I've never actually played any of the games they've published though.

Didn't they also pick up rights to the Kingdoms of Amalur?
Actually I am surprised how few bugs Darksiders 3 has. I have played about 12 hours of the game so far and have only experienced one minor bug. And this is amazing because I am playing on Linux. I began playing this two days after it's release and it just works on Linux using DXVK Wine. THQ Nordic did a great job making Darksiders 3 bugfree on PC. And despite all the criticism Darksiders 3 has received, I actually like the game very much.
I think about them like about local artist. I saw him few times in work but he never came to praise his work. He is not able to make both legs equal but I like how he capture the emotions on the face and the dynamics of the sculpture.

But there was a serious scratch and I can't remember what was that. I will update if I'll recall.

JoWood published some of my favorite games:

Zax Alien Hunter
Aquanox
Spellforce series
Gothic
Chaser

Maybe not always AAA grade ++++ stuff, but greatly enjoyable.
