1st: When was the last movie sale? Maybe I did miss one due to the incompatibility of galaxy and the movie section, but it feels like ages...
2nd: When can we expect Galaxy-Support for movies?
3rd: Journeyquest has been added in last years august. That one was the last new movie. Any sign of when we might get more?
4th: Any sign of big budget movies (no problem if older ones would be the only ones in the beginning) are folding in? The industry needs the turn to DRM-free distribution! (currently something ~0% is DRM-free...)

Ummm if memory serves me right JourneyQuest was closer to a mini-series. An entire season being something like 2-3 hours of content (Well yeah that's within the length of a 'movie').

I know they did 2 seasons, but I don't know if they did a third yet. Now I need to look.... Found Playlist

17 episodes nearly 10 minutes each for about 170 minutes, or about 3 hours.

Hmmm... yeah I guess that could be a movie. Easier than going through all the playlisted videos one by one I guess.
Movies on GOG were a failed experiment. We can expect new things never.

Jonathan, is that you?
Barry?

Edit: To quit picking on you and answer you seriously for a second, it's pretty much as plagren said. The "movies" section has been all but abandoned. It's rather hard to convince companies to release movies DRM-free.

We got a new movie just a few weeks ago... about Double Fine.

I think it's classed as a game though, because it has DLC and movies can't, or something.

Still, despite that, the movie section is mostly dead.

Well, GOG told us that part right from the beginning on:
https://www.gog.com/news/introducing_gogcom_drmfree_movies
Anyways, that step just sounded like the first step to achieve their goal "to offer you cinema classics as well as some all-time favorite TV series with no DRM whatsoever" and not like "we will just put up some documentaries, LowBudget movies and comedies and hopefully this will be enough". (although I´ve got to point out that a like many of them!)

Is it just me or would you have thought that if no big player follows GOG would try to put something up on their own? Buy off the rights of some old, almost forgotten movie classics and republish them would be a strategy. Or cooperate with some newcomer, whatever.
"We kind of felt that would be the case and that it's gonna take patience and time to do it, to do it, to do it right." Even if they don´t shoot for something bigger like sketched before, you´d at least expect that they´d stick to that plan of having patience, don´t you?
I'd like to see more movies, too. Haven't bought a huge number but the ones I have are enjoyable. And it's stuff I probably never would have come across had they not shown up here.
I don't like movies much myself, but I might be persuaded to get some big budget/classic ones DRM-free on sale. It's about the only way you can get me to spend money on them. I find it unfortunate that GOG couldn't/won't go further with this.
Most certainly not a focus for GOG, for the time being. Not only they didn't even bother advertising the latest movie release (Double Fine Adventure, which was released after over a year of no releases), but they haven't even restored the streaming feature.

With GOG's history, not really. If a project doesn't take off, they tend to just abandon it and move to the next thing.

Looks like you´ve experienced something different then me. In my memory, the procedure always was: If a project didn´t took off, GOG simply changed how it was handled and didn´t drop it entirely. But maybe we´ve got different understandings of what qualifies itself as a project...

>Galaxy's been in beta since its inception
>Movies section never gets updated
>Community Wishlist feature still in beta
>Forums haven't been fixed, moderated, or updated in any size, shape, or form
>Reclaim Your Games section gets buried and abandoned
>Contest winners never get contacted

Could just be they were all too niche.
Of all the things GOG should focus on and get them working... "getting more movies" is number last.

I don't know, a few good snuff and bestiality movies would occupy Regals, Tauto, and Kleetus and get them to stop pestering us.
