I'm new here, so I thought I'd say hi.
I looked in on GOG a few years ago when it first started up, but the choice of games then didn't appeal. I dropped by again on a whim, and am so glad I did so. I'd pretty much given up on pc gaming after every game seemed to want to phone home before graciously permitting me to play something I'd paid cash money for. Sure, I understand that coders gotta eat, but I'm pleased to find a company that also seems to understand that most people are decent, and resent being treated like criminals.
Anyway, so I switched over to console gaming, but consoles seem to be increasingly aiming to please only hyper-caffeinated twitch gamers. Not, you understand, that I feel anything but awe for those who *can* manage five consecutive Vulcan death-grips on their controllers, it's simply that I've gotten tired of paying full price for something I'm only going to get to see 10% of.
Now, of course it only remains to see if I can get games up and running. My first download is chugging away as I type - downloading over PAYG wifi takes patience!
May all your respawns be happy ones.

Update:
-- Thanks to all of you who said hi --
Game has downloaded, unpacked etc., and is now working (out of the box, as it were) on Linux Mint 19. (Note for any Linux users: you need to mark the downloaded installer as executable before it'll do its biz; either chmod 700 or right-click on the file, choose properties and tick the "run as a program" box.)
It runs a bit jerkily (well, 2G ram is the minimum spec, after all) and has just crashed at the first boss fight. Sigh. I'll try turning off some textures...
