I am not sure is anyone from GOG reads any of the forum posts, I attempted to use the feedback option in the Galaxy client however the feedback form that opened in my web browser is broken. I was unable to make any selections or to even enter any comments in the text blocks, I was using Firefox so thinking that perhaps the form was not compatible with Firefox I opened the link in Google Chrome and encountered the same issues. Then I went to the support area of the website for GOG and was unable to contact support so I am here to post the issues I have with the Galaxy Client in hopes that someone from GOG support might see it.

I do not always have internet access and the Galaxy client refuses to launch unless it is able to login, I cannot remember but I think in the past the client would launch but would display a message that you are not connected to the internet and that certain features would not be available but at least I could use it as a game launcher. On every game page on your website there is this statement "DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play" I find it ironic that you can play every game without being connected to the internet yet this seems to only apply to the game but not for the Galaxy game client.

So since I have been unable to speak with support concerning this issue I have UNINSTALLED GALAXY. Before removing Galaxy I moved the games folder and renamed it GOG Games and I also crated a new folder named Game Launchers on the desktop and I went through each one of the game installation folders and created short cuts for each game executable and put these short cuts into this folder. For all of its faults at least Steam has an offline mode that you can select when you know you will be without internet concoction for a while.

I don't understand what the problem is.

You don't need to use the galaxy client - you can download\launch\play games, and you can read\post in the forums perfectly fine without the client.

Just uninstall the client, and forget about it.

Not sure why you would install an internet client and be upset when you have to use it....online. Games are indeed DRM free from GOG and as for Steam, they have titles you cannot even turn on without the client. So that is why GoG exists.

If you want to use your games without a client, there is the option of a browser. You login into gog and download your game library to your drive. This will also allow you to save them anywhere you like. While I agree that the company should fix stuff, that is meant to function. As far as I am aware, nothing has been fix since 2019. Maybe I'm incorrect, but that is something other users have complained about. I never wanted to use it, because I rather backup my files myself. Just my preference.

Hope you find which preference is right for you.

Galaxy usually functions offline too. And just to point out. Most steam games that will not function offline do have a mandatory online component. Solo play is typically the extra cherry on the cake for those games.

I can't check right now, but I did recently try launching GOG Galaxy without an Internet connection and it started in offline mode as expected.
Edit: Yep, it still works fine. If you haven't already, prior to launching GOG Galaxy, disable your network adapter in Windows. Otherwise, you have to wait for the login attempt to time out, and maybe that's where the problem is on your system.

Both the feedback form and the bug report form work for me as well. Check your ad blockers and similar browser add-ons. Features like Enhanced Tracking Protection can also break websites, though they're less likely to.
In any case, neither are appropriate for this situation. What you want is the support form.

You don't explain exactly how you were unable to contact support. If you're having problems with the chatbot, repeatedly saying the suggestion wasn't helpful should make it prompt you for info to open a support ticket. You can also bypass the chatbot with a user style.

There is no support from staff on the forums (and you didn't even post in the GOG Galaxy forum). Once in a blue moon, someone will complain about a support ticket that's been open for many weeks, and at that point a staff member might pop in to comment. But even when that happens, a lot of the time it's just to ask the user to be patient.

Galaxy is (mostly) optional. Uninstall it, get offline installers which you can keep and back up. Problem solved!

I am in the process of setting up a new PC, however I cannot find a download link for the GOG Galaxy Client any where on the website. the only place I can find it is on the downloads section of my games library however when I use this it is tied to also downloading the game as well, I just want to download the client so that I can get it set up and working correctly on Linux. Since getting a Stamndeck I no longer use the malware named Windows 10. I am disappointed that in spite of GOG selling games that run on Linux that they have not made their Galaxy client to run natively on Linux. I know that if it is installed as a non Steam game in the steam client then Galaxy and the games installed in Galaxy run using the Steam Proton compatibility layer. So far the vast majority of games I own on Steam that are only windows games run perfectly on the Steam Deck/
I did a search on GOG for the galaxy client download and was taken to the galaxy page. There is a whole page touting how great it is and a million reasons why you should use it. This goes on and on for the entire page but now where on the page does it provide a download link for the damn thing.

Scroll to the bottom of any page of GoG's website and look n the right hand side for a huge purple "GoG Galaxy" button. Bash your mouse pointer on that said button to commence the download procedure...

He's on Linux. The download buttons only show if you're using Windows or a Mac.
