After the last disasters from EA and Bethesda and the "dont you have phone's!!!!!" from Acti/Bliz. Do you think something/anything is going to change after all this?
high rated
Nope, because most people will continue to buy their crap, no matter how bad it is. That's been the precedent that's been established for many years now. It's not going to change overnight just because a few people on the internet (rightly) criticize the badness of modern AAA games.
The industry changed before this point, and it will continue to change after. Two instances of a struggle in the marketplace does not mean a collapse of the AAA-level of game development.
Maybe there would be one if something like Red Dead Redemption 2 had flopped, but I don't see any such signs as of yet.

Honestly, I'm amazed every time a major developer releases something that isn't a F2P mobile game. They make so much money for so little effort that it doesn't make financial sense to make anything else.

"Here's a sprawling, sandbox with a complex narrative and dozens of intricately simulated activities to keep you enthralled for ages. You may now proceed to trash it because it occasionally dips to 59 FPS, our marketing department arranged for a certain retailer to get a bonus outfit as a pre-order incentive, and one of our NPCs expresses progressive views

Meanwhile, the Bejwelled clone our intern slapped together on his lunchbreak has made twenty billion dollars so far this week"
AAA games will probably generate tons of money no matter what they do, the average consumer of AAA doesn't care. Even if the stock owners gets worried, the value of the stock will bounce back with a vengeance when they see how much crap the average consumer is ready to take.

Speaking of which, I should probably keep an eye on the market.

Why would I need a game to tow my car?

Americans will get that joke. :P

AAA apocalypse I don't know, but publishers surely like to shoot themselves in the feet lately!
Nah. You're simply forgetting about the rest of the globe where it's commerce as normal.
I think there will be some changes, just like after Lootbox kerfaffle. Though I wouldn't hold my breath for substantial rise of AAA games quality.
Let me dig up an appropriate quote from a reply to a somewhat similar discussion I started:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/is_bethesda_floundering_and_failing/page2

"I am more surprised that your [you're] surprised."

I've only been telling everyone that the big-budget ("AAA") video game industry has been going to utter crap since 2013.

First it started with AAA publishers forcing people to use crapware like Origin and uPlay. After that it was Denuvo. Now you have utterly tone-deaf AAA developers purposefully muddling mobile shovelware mechanics into desktop/console games, lootbox/microtransactions, and increasingly dumbed-down mechanics intended to appeal to the mobile crowd.

Forget my old rant about console games destroying PC gaming, now it's mobile taking a dump on both.

With that said, there's a simple reason why this bad behavior continues to surge: apparently, it pays and generates more revenue. The race to the bottom will continue while there are people who feed it.

I'm British and I got it.

Didn't laugh though.

What about "it's the AAApocalypse"?
Meanwhile, people are begging for DRM.

That's pretty telling imo, people are softening up to the idea of being treated like crap since it's the golden standard.

I personally never understood this term ''AAA''. For me it holds no real meaning. There are only two types of games from my viewpoint.
Type 1:Games that i want to play.
Type 2:Games that i don't want to play.

Now to the second part of your question: I don't really care. The moment Blizzard introduced their always online DRM program, they lost me as a consumer. Bethesda and their continuous attempts to monetize mods drove me away for good. EA...where do i even start, EA used to mean something, their name used to stand for something, i don't know what happened to them, there are many great old games that came out under their banner, now the only thing they stand for is questionable business practices and bad games.

There is a reason why i am here posting on GOG and not on Battlenet, Origin or whatever the future platform for Bethesda will be called.
Only have a mobile phone which is not a smartphone, windows phone, android, iphone or anything in this regard..
