this game is infected with something......my comp. quarentine the damn thing. dont know what it is and, i dont really care. im just glad that it was only a couple dollars.

checkedeverything, nothing wrong on my end though, it maybe the firewall. doesnt matter anyway....deleted that game and two others that had problems. i had more patients in the old days, when i actually knew everything about the comps and language. now its all alien. just wanted to play a game, not go back to school to learn how to fix it.

False alert most likely. If a shop sells infected goods, they are in deep trouble.

Can I ask what AV you're running?
Most likely a false positive. You're safe.

^This. if it was really infected then by the machine it was installed on. Also most AV is really snake-oil nowadays. Like a pyromaniac firewatch.

The OS and the name of the detected virus would have also been helpful.

Well, Windows something and Trojan.Generic something would be my guess.
Here we go.

Sounds like this is for the first game: https://www.gog.com/forum/independence_war_series/superantispyware_results_on_install_twice

Maybe same thing? Check to see if A) this is the same version of I-War, and B) the files in your quarantine are the same. If so, then they got the all-clear.

If it's the second game, well, I've installed it on three or four different PCs over the years and it has never coughed up a virus / malware. Has sucked up a lot of my time, though.

I learned a long time ago that making guesses in tech support is a bad thing to do.
