I think I'm politically burned out on politics for this year. I feel bad for the title but man I need another year just to recover from the emotional roller coaster ride of this year.

I think it isn't Angela, but Theresa, so the banner shows the time when the game started development.

I think the problem with grand strat games in a modern setting is that the politics of our world are very much set up to stop wars breaking out. For example you couldn't invade and annex smaller nations like you can in historical settings because you've got the UN and NATO etc which would step in, like say in the First Gulf War Iraq invaded tiny little Kuwait but still got a massive global coalition which destroyed them. Even superpowers like Russia were only able to do landgrabs like Crimea by taking advantage of a revolution, and even then at massive cost to their international reputation. And then there's the issue of nuclear weapons which prevent world wars from breaking out.

I think this game tries to focus more on different types of warfare (cyberwarfare, funding foreign rebels, espionage etc) so it'll be interesting to see how that goes.

I felt that in this current political situation making a game about serious politic is not something a lot of people can appreciate since they're sick and tired of that irl. Why not making a political themed game that's over the top and ridiculous we can't help but laughing at it. Because right now we seriously need a way to laugh. People are taking things too seriously.

This is because only few people understand what politics are [modded] or express idea that politics should be kept out - however politics have great interest in those who show no interest in politics!

Realpolitiks is like this: you have a country A, country A has interests, its interests are economic growth, hence it immediately possesses danger for existing larger country B. Hence larger country B either starts a black PR against smaller country A or tries to put it into submissive position. And country A then either seeks temporary allies with preferably smaller size than A to go against B or it gives up to B and conceals its real interests in order to profit from B's large table. And when B collapses, A starts to consume B still alive.

In politics there is only one same shared logic - interests and every action should be looked up on from perspective of an interests. Rest is a decoy. By the way, this is also reason why politics are kept off forums, however to keep them outside of own life means opening many doors for politics to walk into your life.

One more thing I forgot to add up -- I really miss Mr Putin, Mr Erdogan and the Queen on that picture :))
