What the title says :)
GOG keys aren't region-locked, so she will have no problem to redeem and play it.
But you should get a girlfriend first XD
Gift keys purchased on GOG.COM can be used worldwide :)
If you purchase a physical copy of the game, the key included will also be useable on any GOG.COM account.
Keep in mind that when you buy a game as a gift, you're not paying your regional price.

Can't find anything about this through GOG's own support pages.
Could you elaborate and provide source?

I can't find anything in the support articles either. Still, the measure is there to curb key resellers' attempts to profit from selling gift codes bought in regions with lower prices. There are no restrictions on redeeming GOG gifts, so I guess that's their way of dealing with the problem.

I like this answer. I want a physical copy of the game but wasn't sure if the key can be used here on GoG.

An information about gift prices is always visible in the checkout after you check the gifting box:
Gift prices in your region are equivalent to the games' region-free price. Due to this, gift codes purchased directly on GOG.com can be redeemed globally with no regional restrictions. If you're shopping for yourself, deselect the "GIFT THIS ORDER" option to purchase at your local price.

Thank you for answering!

I have not yet attempted to buy any game as a gift, so this was completely unknown to me.
I would think that having said information available in the Gifting articles on the Support pages would prevent people from finding out "after the fact", and so prevent any feelings of surprise.

It does make sense to have a region-free price for gifting, but when people usually only buy for themselves, the difference can come as a small shock.

Thank you again.
