This... this would just make children hate maths even more XD
It's ideas like this that get people killed.
Welcome to GTA V. Before entering the strip club to shoot the owner, please verify the square root of 723,489.

Sarcasm aside, that's not all that far off from how copy protection used to work, back in the day. "To continue, please refer to the manual, and enter the seventh word of the second paragraph on page 59."

Yeah I know. I remember it well.

Emachine9643: Hopefully someone will make it-

Seeing I'm not good in math I had an idea. What if there was a program that you installed and it "took over" your desktop. After a certain amount of time it would pop up and ask you a simple math question which you must answer to continue using your computer. Obviously when you set it up, you can customize it with the intervals of interruptions and password protected settings so no one other then yourself and change or turn it off.

- This would be targeted towards mainly children.
- Simple math like multiplication tables, very simple division, addition, and subtraction.
- Settings that can be locked only by you to prevent the kids from turning it off.
Wait wait wait, doesn't this sound familiar?

"there was a program that you installed and it "took over" your desktop."
Do you mean a virus?

Once again, do you mean a virus?

To how many decimal places? :)
This is actually how my alarm works. In order to stop it I need to solve some simple maths problems. Fun stuff. Not sure that system could help kids learn maths, though. Give it a try.

I hear the bomb squads are now using math problems instead of countdown timers. The graduates who survive the live munitions test know how to make exact change.

Genius! Sounds like an alarm that could actually work on me.
Where can I get this?

No smartphone, but maybe I could use it on my tablet, it has F-Droid installed anyway, thanks for the hint.

This is the one I use. It allows you to adjust the number and difficulty of the maths problems.

I was thinking today that maybe a sort of reward system. Start the program up, complete a certain amount of questions, get to play whatever game installed on the PC.....

For me personally, this sounds like hell

However, since I dislike childrens, I totally endorse this form of torture. :)
