Lord_Kane: you could do a giveaway

OldFatGuy: Who on earth would want The Banner Saga 2?

Or I should say, "Who on earth would want to admit to wanting The Banner Saga 2 given how whenever someone wins a giveaway or asks for a gift they get their rep down voted for ever and ever and ever."
Just have people ask to "join" the giveaway by PM-ing you. Then you select a winner via whatever criteria you like, and tell the rest "sorry". No one sees who exactly signed up correctly, and no one can downvote the entries.

Or, you know, lets not feed the trolls by running away in panic and hiding behind PMs, let's act like sane people for a change and ignore the silly "score". Seriously people. Get a grip.

OldFatGuy: So I see The Banner Saga 2 on sale this weekend...
Funny story!

You could ask for a refund once again. I'm sure the guys at support would love that. ;)

Either option sounds OK to me.

As an alternative, he could just keep the gift code, make an XXL sized print of it, and put it up on his wall as a friendly reminder, so he doesn't make the same mistake again.

Also, props to the GOG support folk for handling everything so smoothly, even if it wasn't GOG's fault. :)
how nice of GOG

thanks for sharing your story

don't sweat it, oldguy!!!

and like others have said, if you are in the spirit of giving, give!!! fuck trolls and downreppers, if you cave in to not doing giveaways (or closing them once you start holding them), you are only letting the bullies and idiots win

keep on keeping on

OldFatGuy: Anyone have any ideas on what I should do with it?
Nah, you should ask the support about it :)
If you want to give it away without downreppers having something to say, you could use maGOG to see who has (publicly) wishlisted it and gift it to one of them of your free choice. I do things this way, now: no luck involved, a pleasant surprise gift for someone who would likely appreciate (and, most of all, PLAY) it and nobody will ever know.
So the down rep is still a thing huh... that show how "active" I'm lately. :)
GOG would have fewer support tickets if games owned showed up properly in the store. I say harass them some more.
No, a complete moron would do the above, then write it up into a post and put it out for all to see ...

:D Maybe in the end they actually fix their library. Wouldn't that be a wonder?

Some people still take it on heart.
I stopped giving ratass about it right when I went negative from 2 stars.
There are many old active users getting down voted (it's done from a script I can tell that) like zeogold ,tinyE,etc.
Few usernames gained rep similarly.

Leroux: But it sucks that you spent your money for nothing ... I own The Banner Saga 1 but never played it so far. BS2 is on my wishlist, but with me not knowing whether I'd enjoy it at all (and given that I think there will still be more parts to follow
Banner Saga 3 (supposed to be the conclusion to the series) has been kickstarted, supposed to be out in Dec. 2018.

I've not played the second yet (although I own it), but I found the first one was very enjoyable. Fairly similar to Expeditions:Conquistador, if you've played that one.

I've played it for a bit and mostly enjoyed it, but didn't finish. I like the elements of roleplaying and tactical combat, but I'm not a great fan of strategy and resource management.

OldFatGuy: snip
GoG just inexplicably changed the name of "Banner Saga 2, The" to "The Banner Saga 2" last week I think. Funny thing is it's still "Banner Saga 2, The..." for both the Deluxe Edition and the Soundtrack and the first one.
