sasuke12: Is XCOM a good game ? Did everyone who have it actually enjoy it ?

I think $8 for two XCOM games may be a good deal.
If you don't have XCOM tier one is a must buy, the enemy within is the same game with updates basically, but it's worth playing too.

Hell yes. Very anxiously awaiting XCOM 2 next month :D

I'd buy at least Tier 1 to try it out and if you like it upgrade to BTA for Enemy Within, it's an expansion that upgrades the main game (best to restart though). One of the best expansions in recent years imo.

I'd buy the bundle myself but I have everything (including leaked additions) except Beyond Earth/Starships. Not spending top tier just so I have another game I need to buy an expansion for (particularly this one since apparently the base game sorely needed it)

Wow,that's actually a really great bundle. Will buy it on next week when all the games are released.

I have Enemy Within for the 360 and it completely changes how the game is played. Reminded me of the old XPaks.
Is it possible to buy the classic X-COM games DRM-Free? They were DRM free when they were released.
I would like to avoid opening a Steam account just for this.

Here you go. No Steam necessary here.

The classic X-COMs are DRM free on steam. They run through DOSbox, so adding DRM would breech the user agreement for DOSbox.

I loved it. I had always been interested on XCOM, but found them tough to get into. This game (without the DLC) trained me and now I enjoy both this and Xenonauts a very lot. So the 1 $ tier is a must if you don't have it.

If you like it, the DLC is pretty nice too, so the BTA might be worth it, specially since you will probably get the original XCOMs, which even dated, are still great.

Remember when the Humble Bundle was Indie.

Pepperidge farm remembers.
There are no doubt many more DLC for Beyond Earth
A shame the best game ever done by Firaxis is not part of this bundle…
The good news is you can buy it on GOG anyway!

I bought the retail version back then and enjoyed every minute of it. For $1 don't think about it. ;)

yyahoo: I've already got everything but Starships and Beyond Earth. Maybe if they included the Civ V DLC and the Beyond Earth Expansion, but since they don't...
If the BTA included CV: Brave New World, I'd do it. $7.50 for X-com plus BNW would compel me.

As is, I'll almost certainly pass though.

adaliabooks: Not really bothered about XCOM but that's a nice deal for Civilisation IV... and Beyond Earth sounds like fun too.
I played the demo for Beyond Earth and was underwhelmed, personally, though that was not long after release. Not sure if more recent patches have improved the gameplay.

Oh! So that is the why they don't have DRM. Now I understand. Thank you.

Yeah, everything I've heard suggests the same... but even a not great Civ game is fun (Civ V is a case in point, really wish I'd bought the complete version of IV rather than bothering with that... still had fun with it though)

Just been sorting my library here a bit and decided it's probably not worth it as I have tons to play and it sounds like it may all get bundled again (possibly with more DLC and add ons for the later Civ games) as they've been bundled before.

Plus I'm really not interested in the XCOM games, the one I got for free from some awards thing last year didn't grab me at all.
Will wait to see what they will add...
