I need to be able to rip the music from Descent 2 but for some reason the newest version of DAEMON Tools Lite will not let me mount the .inst file anymore as it only looks for mountable files like bin/cue. Do I need to get an older version or something? Is there an alternative?

Maybe you can rename it to iso and try to mount it. I recall doing a similar trick for some games here.
