Aron's Adventure

GOG page: https://www.gog.com/en/game/arons_adventure

I'd usually tend to shy away from the "asset store" art style... and I cringe a bit at fantasy games with "middle school" writing using words like "cool" (although this seems the trend)... but after watching a few episodes of a playthrough, I'm EXTREMELY intrigued by the combat and exploration...

Has anyone played Aron's Adventure? Is $14.99 a good proposition for what you get?

(and "no"... sadly I've never played a Zelda game... so I don't have that nostalgia to draw upon)

I only put a few hours in, but I did enjoy the gameplay mechanics from the little that I played. I had decided to hold off playing more until I get a new computer with RTX support so that I can play with all the visuals maxed out.
Yeah, I played it for a while, but I put it down because it has some pretty wild bugs (like trying to mount a horse, would have you either end up inside the horse (and it was almost impossible to dismount), or you would end up on the side floating in midair as if you were riding a motorcycle's invisible side car), and those weren't even the game breaking bugs (their bug report thread on steam is 11 pages long). That said, the devs responded to my bug reports. Also the last update (according to Steam) was on Nov 12, 2021. I don't know if their are any major bugs to be on the lookout for. Give it a shot (I think I'll get back to it myself at some point).

The dev put out a video relatively recently (April?) about a BIG update with many bug fixes. Doesn't look like is live yet but he claims it's in QA ATM.

Thanks.

Did it take a lot of resources?

Here are my specs:

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
RAM: 32GB
GPU: RTX 3080 TI
WD Gold 18TB HDD
Monitor: MAG274QRF 1440p @ 165Hz

With DLSS turned off (and ray tracing off), the game runs between 130 - 165 fps. When it's on, it's pretty much locked at 165fps.
With ray tracing on, it runs betweem 50 - 70 fps (and DLSS does not influence the framerate at any setting). This was tested running around in a somewhat densely wooded area.

Is...is that not how you mount a horse?
...I may need to question some other things Uncle Chet told me, too...
