GOG.com makes money off of selling games. Great. Thank you.

But when I own a game on Steam or EGS or Amazon or w/e, it's getting to be a pain to see a bunch of stuff on sale on GOG.com and know it'll be a hassle to figure out if I own it somewhere else already. I give up and go worry about something else.

You're literally costing yourself sales by not allowing me to import the list of games your app GOG Galaxy already knows that I own. But I guess I'm also very much a minority here...
GG.deals has this feature, though it requires you to login with Steam. It only syncs your library with Steam and GOG, but you can mark other games as owned.

Also worth noting that the Galaxy plugins work on the client-side only, and most of them (Steam, Amazon, etc) are made by the community. Adding such feature to the website would imply those platforms are okay with that, and therefore would bring legal trouble to GOG.

Galaxy just link your library with the games you own on that library, it doesn't keep track if you own it. You can link the account of a friend or your bother or sister, and GOG has to distinguish this? If you don't own it on GOG, it's not on your GOG library and is a perfect option to buy it.

Did you check the GOG store inside GOG Galaxy? Does it not mark games from other stores as owned if you have the respective account linked? If so, you should create a new community wish, since a relevant one doesn't appear to exist already.
