Have you always found the sales lists in the forum to be a valuable resource to know what's on sale? I know I have. But sooner or later, whoever posted such lists lacked the time to continue to do so and the lists disappeared until someone else picked up the mantle.
And I decided that I would be doing so for the time being. A small difference to earlier attempts to post such lists: I have written scripts to fully automate generating and posting these lists.
While I will begin with starting the scripts manually to see if they work as intended I will eventually schedule them to start automatically once a day once I trust them enough. However, that still leaves the possibility that I'm not at home or too occupied to turn on the computer every day so please don't start nagging if new sales don't show up immediately. ;-)
The lists will have this format:
Name of sale (linked to sale page)
price (discount) Name of game (linked to game page)
price (discount) Name of game (linked to game page)
...
with each sale starting on a new post. Naturally, long sales can consist of several posts.
Edit: I changed the line format to put the link after the name because the forum's [ url] tag messes up special characters and there are a lot of games with special characters in their name.
The list will be sorted by price and by the name of the game if the price is identical. The prices will be in Euro with Western European regional pricing (Austria, Germany, France, ..., I think most of Europe actually have the same prices.).
Small messages with thanks or suggestions for improvements are ok, but please keep discussions out of this thread. This thread is supposed to be reserved for posting the lists.
Unless something goes horribly wrong with the script, posting will begin shortly.
I hope you find the lists useful.
Edit: First problem: It seens the forum doesn't like bold tags inside url tags.
Edit2: Still some double posting bugs to correct and special characters don't work as intended. I won't post these lists again though but corrections should hopefully be seen on new lists.
