Acutally discrepency between galaxy and offline installers has always been an issue since galaxy came out. I'm not sure if that's what he means, though.

So that there is a small discrepancy between Galaxy and the installer is something to be expected, it's only becoming an issue when there start being an abnormal delays between the two of the installers are not updated at all for some reason.

Still, the concept of delta updates would speed up even galaxy. They'd just need to make the system, which shouldn't actually be all that difficult.

Originally the delay was supposed to be because the offline installers were supposed to be manually approved, that's also the reason why the "rollback" feature was added to Galaxy. The Galaxy version was directly uploaded by the devs without any checks if it was actually working or not, and in case an update broke everything, users had the possibility to rollback to a previous version, while the offline installer were supposed to be a more stable and tested version.
With this scenario it can make sense that, depending of the type of "patch" (i.e. if it's a major patch, fully tested by the devs or an hotfix of an hotfix for an InDev game) it can go from a couple of hours to one or two days.
Of course that was the theory at the time and it can only work if Gog has enough manpower to validate the installers in a timely manner. Nowadays given Gog lack of new communication on the subject it hard to know how it is working.

I'm not sure what he means either, as I thought the GOG reply covered the issue this thread is about.
Even though he says Offline Installers, he may very well have been meaning updates that exist at Steam etc, but not here, which is a whole other issue and surely down to DEVs and PUBs.

offline installers are the only reason i buy from gog to begin with. i burn the files on to a disc and create a homemade disc box with the games art on it.

Things were doing well for the last month, but now the Mac versions aren't getting updated again. Please fix, thank you. It seems like there's some manual element here...if you automated the process entirely, this would be solved permanently and everybody would be happy (or at least find something else to complain about).

Personally I no longer have the space. My old game boxes take up way too much space.
These days I am just happy to have a game in a folder, maybe also sub-folders, with one or more game cover images, and that folder copied to multiple backup drives. All with a good archival structure of course.
Sometimes the past, if it takes up a lot of space, isn't worth building onto.
Just as my body downsizes with age, so must my possessions ... eventually.
