They will always have that. The claim can be made at any point. I have never said it shouldn't be made at any point but to be delayed to when it's needed and it makes sense to make. By "value" I mean knowing the knowledge about a particular individual being Town therefore taking their input at face value. Knowing someone is Town doesn't automatically mean they are correct, have good reads, etc. It mostly servers as a distraction remover and/or one less person to worry about. Alternatively, if they stay hidden a case/wagon can be formed against them that can be shut down with the claim and that push can be taken into account later on. The claim is still made, just not "for free".


The affiliation is granted but it's not the only value the role has potential to provide.


Pondering over this is useless. It's the Mason(s) call whether a claim right now is good or not, possibly after taking other people's input into account. Trying to figure out who a Mason who hasn't claimed on their own won't bring anything good.


If we need to rely on such tactics we may as well call the game off and take a rain-check.

Since Pooka is extending the deadline by a day or two, I'm not feeling as much pressure to consolidate under an already nominated suspect. Here are my thoughts for why I'm voting for Scene:

1. Scene tries selling the idea of the Mason role revealing on the basis that all night powers should converge on the Mason and protect him, leaving everyone else open for an easy night kill. (Post #285)

2. Scene suggests that the cop role reveal. (Post #308)

3. He posts a list of people that he thinks are not the Mason. (Post #339)

4. Scene gives us more bad advise in the form of suggesting that we lynch all inactives for no reason other than that they're inactive. (Post #340)

5. Lynching inactives would not be all at once.
- We lynch one on Day 2, mafia still gets a night kill of their choice.
- We lynch one on Day 3, mafia still gets a night kill of their choice.
- Mafia also doesn't have to explain why they voted the way they did.

Scene either is looking for the Mason or wants to lynch inactives. (Saying that, I am totally okay with lynching an inactive if there's reason to believe that they are mafia.)

Overall, I feel like Scene is trying really hard to not find Mafia, which gives me really big feels that he might be a Scum Lord.

See, the very first thing Scene did when Day2 started was to vote for Liftraisal.
His following posts were... weird, to say the least. By now others have mentioned those, and you yourself have probably read them.

The reason why I am asking you personally is because you have first hand experience of him playing mafia. As beautifully outlined in #161:

Even Lift himself pretty much ignored this! His only reaction to this was:

To be honest I don't know what to say here. I agree with CatV and others that has and keeps making questionable statements. As I said before I think he did overplay his hand when he was scum in my game and pretty much shot himself in the foot by attracting all the wrong kinds of attention even though he seemed to be on the right track from the start. He sort of did a similar thing on the following roulette game where I was pretty much certain he was scum based on similar stuff. I can't really remember his previous games where he wasn't scum but 1) I doubt he only appears scummy when he is one and 2) by his own words he apparently gets lynched no matter what early on either way. He sort of reminds me of Frostburn where he just seems to think and act in a way that is totally dissonant with everyone else and people clash with him so he becomes a low hanging fruit if Town and, by his own admission, kind of a liability for scum. I like to think that if he is scum and his buddies aren't entirely new players and/or just missing they would have talked him down a bit. When he was scum in my game he had a single accomplice and they didn't have daychat. Among other things his buddy lamented the fact that he wasn't able to coach him on how he looks and give him some pointers and I think scene said he could have used that.

TL;DR: He seems like an easy choice but so did Frostburn. I may not be doing myself any favors by saying this if he turns out to be scum but Telika already hates me because we have strategical disagreements and/or it just serves his purpose but I doubt it.

As for why I didn't comment on it sooner, sorry. I really don't have any reason. I've been super distracted/busy with Christmas preparations and that post was three days ago, so I couldn't tell you what I thought of it at the time.

Here's Scene's reasons to vote for Lift in Post #279, and I'm going to quote Scene himself in two parts:

If you check the final Day 1 vote count (Post #260), Scene voted for Frosty too. Is Scene claiming that he really did believe that Frosty was mafia when he voted for him back on Day 1?


If we check back further on Day 1 to see where Scene voted (Post #219.) "So from my POV both of Frosty and Buck could either be lazy townees like myself or potential LAMIST Scums."

Okay and I had to double-check Mafia Wiki on LAMIST. Apparently it doesn't mean "Lame-ist" as in super sucky mafia scum as I had been reading it, but it actually means "Look at me! I'm so town!"

Again looking at this post in hindsight, the post ends up looking like Scum Lord Scene flip-flopping on Frosty so that he doesn't look suspicious when Frosty flips Town. At the same time, he is also proclaiming "Look at me! I'm so town!"

It's interesting that he says this considering that I essentially said the exact same thing about Scene in Post #347 - It looks like he's more interested in looking for a Mason or even a Cop than looking for Mafia.
