What does it have to do with the registry. And yes, probably GOG's cookie is set to never expire. Which I don't mind.

The registry cleaners I use also wipe cookies, etc.


It's easier for me to get back in here when I revisit
but if someone's using a public computer passerby's are going to have a free grab bag

The other concern is that someone has my login and email password to confirm log in and was already signed in when I came back to visit this morning.

Although if someone is signed in from a different IP wouldn't I have to sign in again anyway?

Well, that shouldn't happen. It sounds like there might be something off with your browser, or whatever you're using to delete cookies (CCleaner?). Not if your machine was still logged in. The same Gog account can be used by multiple machines and/or browsers simultaneously without forcing any of them out or prompting to relog.

Unless you clear your cookies or log off manually, the login lasts indefinitely.

How are registry cleaners still a top download? They haven't offered any benefits since the Windows 9x era when erroneous entries could actually slow down your machine. Your registry can as as messed up as it wants without issue for well over a decade now. Why risk having a program potentially destroy your machine be deleting critical.entries in error for placebo performance gains?

your cookie cleaner aint working for sure.
Here everytime i run mine i'm definitely logged out of GOG.
Same outcome if using firefox in private mode - after closing the browser the session is expired.
So ya i either way recommend using a working cleaner (using CCleaner here), delete the cookies from browser settings itself and/or run the browser in private mode

As others have said, clear cookies from browser (I do this on close anyways) will log you out. There is however an exception you may check, in firefox you can choose certain sites to keep cookies from, I am not at computer to give you exact location but under privacy there should be an add exclusion, which may explain why you are still logged in after removing cookies.

Gog.com does not auto logout when you automatically close the browser.. and when you exit the page the site automatically store cookies in your browser to make sure that when you open the site once again, your automatically logged in unless you enabled the two-step verification progress.. Oh and btw registry cleaners does not remove cookies from your browser or even erase your browsing data, registry cleaners works differently by wiping the unwanted registry errors in the files associated in your OS but it does not wipe the functions that is associated by the file itself..

I believe all you need to do is to clear your browsing history or remove the cookies associated with your browser Btw the best option is that you can just open the site in incognito mode ( shift+ctrl+N) because it does not store any information or cookies once you close the browser plus and your account will be logged out automatically... :-)

or, you know, <ACCOUNT> -> <LOGOUT> works.
