Hello,

I'm looking for the game covers that GOG has created and that can be found on the game descriptions.

Here's some images:

https://www.gog.com/game/imperialism

https://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/imperialism/cover-art/gameCoverId,291327/

The image is at the top (first link), it seems to me that we could find them, but I couldn't get anything despite my research.

I know that there are unofficial covers via the "gogcovers" site but these are not the ones I am looking for.

Anyone have any ideas?

Used to be easy in the old design, just see the image URL in the catalog and remove the size suffix. Now... One way I see is to go to the game page, check page source, search for cover-picture (or js-cover-image or a bunch of other ids that show up there) and grab that URL, minus any suffix, so cut before the underscore and just add the extension. Example.

Great, it works, thanks a lot for your help. :)
I don't know if it's always the same ones but you can also click and open the images of games you own in your library and then just remove the size and the end of the url. Unfortunately or fortunately, whatever your case, they also include the names of the games.

I did use to collect those, so take a look here for the library images. I haven't updated them for a few years though, so there are quite a few missing.
I wish, Gog would give us access to the full hi-res artwork, they use to create those banners.
