It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi there,

I wanted to start some downloads at home while remoting via RDP from the office, but the GOG Galaxy client doesn't seem to open. It's in the processes, but does show it's interface.

Any solutions for this?

Thank you
Well.. that is a very specific issue.
Since it's just a browser I would've guessed it would work.
It's not to do with you having multiple monitors at home?
Does it show in the taskbar/system tray or not at all?

Ya, and I'm pretty sure that it uses your default browser in your computer because if my cookies are off in Chrome, I can't seem to operate GOG Galaxy properly.

To answer your questions:

1- It's my media PC which is hooked to my HDTV in my living room, so it's a single "Monitor"
2- I don't see it in the taskbar or anywhere besides in Task Manager

I thought it used webkit or some such solution.
Assuming it normally works, it's definitely a strange problem.
I used to have an issue whereby I would have to start the client and then kill the client and the background thingamajig at least once before it would start normally. You could try doing that.

Did that already, doesn't do anything.

Strange, I just tried with my computer and it works.
Perhaps it's already running under a different user account?
Or if it's possible do a reboot of the system.
Sorry, but that's about all I can think of and do. :(

Did you try with an RDP program or something else like Log Me In or Team Viewer?

Microsoft's RDP.

Well, maybe it's a setting in my remote connection then.

Well anything is possible, but I'm pretty sure you'd still see the program in the taskbar and system tray.
Unless it's hidden in the tray of course.
I've never seen an application not start because of RDP.

Well most GFX card configuration managers won't, but that's mainly because you don't actually use your GFX card's hardware when using RDP.

I have reported this issue to GOG Support but they were not able to replicate and did nothing.

It was about a month ago and since then Galaxy updated twice and now is working perfectly via RDP in exactly the same setup as it wasn't working before. I'm not impressed :/

It may be worth to check it again now.

Piotr

Another update and it stopped working again :(

Looks it has something to do with GalaxyClientService which starts then stops when you are trying to run GOG.

I got the same issue
Win7x64 and Galaxy client is not working through remote desktop.
