Considering that some of the games sold here don't even run on the nwetest system (windows 10) why did galaxy stop supporting most older windows OS systems. We should be able to run a version of galaxy on those systems that still lets us utilize the multiplayer and other options on galaxy for them. I had it run on my laptop flawlessly for a while and then just suddenly had an update that wouldn't update and now it always crashes. My laptop was running Windows Vista. Without using gog on it this removes a number of older games I could have played via gog galaxy or tracked while playing over network with a friend.
There is being a skinflint, and then there is trying to peel and sell your own skin to save money.

The reason GOG has discontinued support for those is because Microsoft discontinued support. Same thing with Mac OS X, and same thing with Linux. Fedora 23 is dead. Fedora 24 will be heading towards EOL.

I dont think that is the real reason because all other clients I know still work on Vista flawlessly. STEAM, Origin, Uplay, Battle.NET.

I think the real reason behind that decision is Galaxy is still in early Beta and have lots of issues with Vista and XP. I myself had been using Vista until last week, loved it, but installed 7. Now I am using Galaxy again and half of the problems it had when I was using Vista are gone.
Some games actually work better on older systems for speed and other reasons. And it's easier to network using an old computer or two in the mix. I just think it would be nice if gog (considering their content) would consider the older systems and at least support a version of galaxy for them. I mean the multiplayer was working before on the old systems. and galaxy was still tracking game hours and such. But then their hasn't been a huge rush to make things work on Windows 10 either so I guess legacy support might be even harder to get.
