Dear GOG community,
My name is Senteria and I am the owner of the unofficial GOG discord server. Today I am here to proudly announce: GOG Café 2.0.
A brief history of the server:
Currently GOG Café is the biggest GOG orientated discord server. It all started as a place created by a streamer called Tikanjiah. It was intended to have the audience watching the GOGCOM twitch channel to have a place to hang out after the streams ended. Time passed and the place became less active. It was then when I was approached if I wanted to take the server over. I accepted and thus became the current owner. It was quite inactive until a GOG user by the name of Zeogold came along and shook things up. He brought a lot of contacts in and the place became a lot livelier as a result. I also learned what it actually meant to be an owner and became more acquainted with Discord's mechanics.
Two years passed and since half a year there has been some exodus of the Cult of Zeo leaving the server. The place became quieter and I had two options: Abandon/disband the server or revitalize the server. I didn't want to go down without a fight so I chose the latter. I made significant improvements to the server and activity increased as a result. That's why I'm proud to present to you the new GOG Café.
Features:
1. (RSS) GOG News feed that will directly post any time something new happens over at gog.com
2. Reddit feed that will post anytime a new topic on the GOG subreddit is posted
3. Custom roles. You can select your own title colour and choose among 20 different roles to take on the server. These roles bring flavour and you will be able to see who have similar interests in the different kind of game genres your fellow Café member likes as well as their platform of choice. Of course this all optional. We're a DRM-Free platform after all.
4. We have several new channels where you can discuss, ask questions and post things regarding: GOG Galaxy (2.0) as well as a room dedicated to the modding scene.
The server has been restructured and is now very cleanly organized for your convenience and awaiting more members. That's why I would love to invite you to our GOG discord server.
