So I got Icewind dale 2 and started it from the desktop. It ran choppy. Spent hours figuring out what it was. Then I went to my GOG Galaxy account and started it from there. And it worked just fine. Please explain why. The game is supposed to work off line. Why am I forced to start it from your client? No fun and a waste of time.

It does work fine offline as it is DRM free,maybe Galaxy is the problem.

Tauto: It does work fine offline as it is DRM free,maybe Galaxy is the problem.
As I said, it works choppy offline but smooth launched from online. So there must be a bug. Something in the game wants GOG Galaxy. (Of course it's DRM free. That's why I buy them from GOG...)

I don't use Galaxy,just know it works fine.Could be a PC problem if it doesn't work without Galaxy?Sorry for trying to help,it shouldn't happen again.Thankyou.

Have you tried checking Icewind Dale subforum for solutions? I can see there are some threads about slowdowns/laggy gameplay, one of them is even a sticky.

I have done all that and my PC is new and fine. Since I found out it plays fine while started from GOG G I will play it that way. It's just that it should not be that way. Others might need to find out. The other games works normal. It was just this. That was all.

that is an odd issue, I am running IWD 2 off of a non galaxy install just fine, I would submit this as a report to support, to make GOG aware of this potential problem.
