TekZero: I guess you guys are still doing this.
Yup. :)
TekZero: I'm thinking of playing this game, since I've had it for a while now. Where/how do I start?
Best way to start is (imho) the following:
1. Play a few matches against the AI so that you get a feeling for the game and its UI. There's also a tutorial, which isn't very good, but better than nothing.
2. Keep the Competition Rules at hand. It's a PDF that's downloaded together with the game. You don't have to read through all of it right away, but it really really helps.
3. As soon as you've understood the interface and the basic rules, get online and start playing against other people. Watch what they are doing, ask questions, try to apply the observed techniques yourself. There are some techniques (like "caging") which are crucial to the game, but which you won't ever learn by just playing against the AI.
We have an "Open League" to play other GOGlodytes (see first post of the thread), or you can of course play random matches on the game's server.
TekZero: And are there Beastmen in this game? They are my favorite army outside of the Dwarves.
There are, in the Chaos team. Chaos can become a very strong team, but takes a long time to get going, the players start almost without skills. Dwarves are generally considered a better choice for new players since they can be competitive right out of the box, and are relatively straightforward to play once one has understood the "caging" technique I mentioned earlier. But it's your choice, the wealth of teams to choose from is one of Blood Bowl's great assets. Just keep in mind that the teams aren't actually balanced.
