Well, turning 20 very soon. I would classify 12 as fairly young! :D (Considering what this site is about, probably most folk around here could be my parents)
I was lucky with my brother. He's 8 years older than me and always brought "new" games to our house. (by "new" I mean a few years later from release, but in Romania that's how things went, when it came to gaming)
Some of those titles would be: Civilization 1 and 3, Colonization, Settlers 2, Captain Claw and Hercules, Starcraft Broodwar, Diablo 2, etc...
That's how I got to love games from before my time. You should go play some Dungeon Keeper!

Actually I was pretty disappointed in Dungeon Keeper when it came out. I had been expecting more of laying out clever labyrinths and "Keeper vs Heroes" gameplay, Nowadays it would be called something like "Tower Defence" but that hadn't been invented yet.

OK, good, confirmation. People I know who have who played (and probably gave up) on SimEarth thought I was nuts when I told them the robots appeared, became sentient and got the heck out of town.

Back on topic: I thought of something that might occur to other people too. (Not necessarily with this game) There's this game called Don't Starve, where you're plopped in a large world where you have to survive through the night, seasons and as the title says, hunger. At first when I played it, the game was amazing. Most of the time I'd set up a camp and stay put until I'd die to some dumb thing I most likely caused.. Now, however, the way I play is completely different, because I know exactly what I have to do, what to look for, when and where. Sadly, this makes the game less fun, quite boring for me, actually.
I could probably come up with some other titles, but this would be the most pressing one, for me. Knowledge on how a game works, coming either from experience or other sources (I generally try to avoid wikis, at least early on), sometimes ruins everything and makes you want to forget your whole experience with it. (I mean this mostly on single-player games)

I'm currently replaying Prince of Persia:The Two Thrones and it's certainly not as good as I remember.

Been a while since I played that one. Friend of mine showed me it and we finished it "together". (He played, I watched, but I enjoyed it, though I didn't feel too compelled to play it myself)

Nah, I don't think I nuked the human populace, I just think I gave more attentions to the robots who seemed to have their collective stuff together.

Actually it's been a while... like 20+ years... I just can remember nuking the robots turned them into another intelligent lifeform to observe. But I might be wrong on that.

I didn't nuke them, the humans just died out and the robots took over. Then they decided they had somewhere else to be.
