ssling: Keep in mind that you get subscribed to everything each time you claim a game from giveaway.
Not entirely true.

I was getting all the emails from GOG, but some months back I disabled just the Wishlist discount emails, and so no longer get them, despite grabbing the giveaways when they occur.

I still get the other GOG emails, including the exclusive discount ones.

As for Wishlist discounts, I use a program I created to check my top 100 or so, out of about 800+. It takes about two minutes.

In the last few months I have also reduced my footprint at GOG, and felt much better for it, even though I have missed the odd freebie. Some of you may have noticed I am not here every day now. I also rarely look at sales pages now, and rely mostly on my Wishlist program, and checking the Free Games pages for freebies and demos. When I do visit, I check GOG's bloated main page of course, so I somewhat keep up with the news.

PainOfSalvation: To name a few, they either didn't get discounted in a long time or the discount is not big enough to pull the trigger:

Terminator: Resistance

I waited for a year for Terminator to go on a discount... it never did. I caved and bought it at full price lol. It's pretty good. Hopefully Robocop will make its way to GOG too.
Maybe it's just me, but surely not.

When I see Diablo + Hellfire and War Craft I & II Bundle for instance have their usual 20% discount for the umpteenth time, I just think "Nothing To See Here" and move on.

In a way, it has gotten ridiculous. They might as well call that discount the other alternative price, because if you wait a few weeks etc, it will be sure to turn up again. They are just playing games with us. You could really say, they never actually get a true discount ... just a fake one.

I can live without them, and have been ... though I do have them on disc. But it irks me that sort of nonsense, so once again I speak up about it. And even though they are not hugely expensive, it has long been a principle issue for me, and I do not like milk greed. They have more than made their money back on those games, far more, and to do this fake rarity thing so they can sell at a higher price, just smacks of unethical behavior.

That's my view anyway, agree or disagree with it.

Some folk of course are just happy to have them on GOG, and will almost pay any price for such. I've never understood that, and what it promotes and encourages for the future.
Terra Invicta. Right now playing other stuff. It felt like a must play after reading The Three Body Problem...
Good old Metal Gear Solid, same old alternate price as usual ... pretend discount.

I really should take it and a bunch of other over-priced games off my wishlist, that have been around a while at GOG, and that don't give any hope of a true discount.

Perhaps I should set a time limit, and then either give up on them totally, presuming that the provider(s) don't really want me to buy that game to give them some money ... or maybe I'll feel really pissed and just get them by other means ... I mean, it feels a bit like a war to me, and as they say, anything goes in Love or War ... and I certainly don't love the greedy controlling buggers. :P

Or maybe I'll just be strong, and settle for all the many many other games I have.
