for some reason the game won't start I click the play button it switches from green to gray and then a second later the button is back to green. I already tried veriyfing the game and uninstall and reinstall I even deleted all save game data. has anyone else had similar problems? oh and I'm not using any mods or unofficial patches

Please, specify what game you're talking about.
And - if you're using Galaxy - try to disable the "Overlay" option in the Galaxy settings and see what happens.

It would be easier to help if you'd give the name of the game. And what system you are trying to run it on.
my bad I thought this was posted to the neverwinter nights forum I am using a inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop. I just tried it after disabling the overlay and there was no change

You could try to install "OpenAL" as suggested by the game devs (read here)
https://beamdog.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/206729933-Windows-My-Game-Won-t-Launch-Or-Is-Crashing-On-Launch

Are you running the game on Win7? Sometimes (it also happened to me on certain games) there are issues related to "Rundll32" which can be fixed.

Also if none of this works, you should send a support ticket here:

I'm using windows 10 I did some checking and someone else reported the same problem about a month ago so I'm hoping it's something they're working on
