Is it not funny how NEGATIVE reviews and recommendations disappear from GOG game pages???

I posted a negative review for the new D&D Stronghold: Kingdom Simulator and that review just GONE, it still says i reviewed the game but cannot see my review. Also there was another review before mine that was also negative and that review ALSO GONE.

Funny how the reviews are removed from a new game added to GOG, almost like they do not want those reviews because GOG first want to rake in as much money they can on launch and then it is fine for bad reviews.

This is also not the first review of mine that just disappeared from games i reviewed on GOG but noticed this more on games first time on GOG and new on GOG.

I have noticed this a lot and especially when i speak to my friends who also buy from GOG. Some of them also commented on this how their reviews were gone and was also negative on other games.

So reviews on GOG is then selective and only certain reviews allowed, especially if they praise a game, then its fine.

I guess this bulletin of mine will also disappear but i just wanted to basically ask if other GOG users also noticed this especially if review is negative and WILL IMPACT SALES. Its all about the MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!

Anyone else posted negative review on especially new game on GOG that just disappeared??? I would really like to know if there are more GOG users that picked up this trend.

CYA
I think it takes a while for reviews to show up so if you just posted it you won't see it yet.
Unless I'm wrong and GOG is completely evil.
What did your review include, specifically? Could you quote it?

Well my latest review was on the new game they launched "D&D Stronghold: Kingdom Simulator".

That was a few days ago already when the game just came out. I was second person to review. My review and the first review just gone and other reviews after ours still there.
(To answer Smannesman's Question)
So its not delay, anyway not for so many days already.

I cannot remember everything i said but it was basically first about the price that is $5.99 for a 18.3mb game of 1993 and also some info about the game when i played it a long long time ago.

My review and first posters review just GONE!!!

You will actually see "jcservant" review saying "A review based on the game, not price!", he probably saw my and the first posters reviews before it disappeared and probably the reason why his heading is "A review based on the game, not price!", but my review and first posters review (that was also about the price and some info about game) that is just GONE!!! Funny how negatives get removed.

Best of all it still shows my rating on reviews which can only be there if i did a review but my review is gone and now i cannot even put a new review there or edit the old one.
Yeah, there were 3 stupid revews after release of Stornghodl that I saw and later on there was only one. I believe they were deleted becaues they recieved overwhelming amount of downvotes. I know that when I saw them they had cca over 100 votes and almost all of them were downvotes so I guess that's what led to disappearing.
I remember your review and it's indeed missing now. I wonder if reviews work like threads; if many people report them, then they get deleted.

Looks like the first two reviews weren't particularly well received. If the report button works on reviews the same way it does for posts, enough people might have disliked what you said, reported it, and gotten it wiped off the page.
Like most things on the website and forum the review section on GOG needs to be improved as well.

Then what is the point of reviews then if just because its negative and people do not like it, then it gets REMOVED. What is the point then??? Should only reviews that are liked stay??? Should the review only be one sided as positive to boost the game??? A review should not be removed unless there is swearing etc, but just to remove it because people do not like it means there is no fair review and people interested in buying the game is not getting the FULL picture, only what people like then. So basically the reviews are useless and you cannot go on what anyone says because you cannot see the negative.

I do not like STEAM at all but one thing i can say is that they keep all reviews, positive and negative and you can even sort it and only look at positive or negative reviews. At least you then see the point of view of all different kinds of people and why they marked it as positive or negative.

I strongly feel that if GOG wants to keep their review system as a fair system then they should do the same, only remove reviews if there is swearing or fighting with another user etc. but not remove it just because people do not like the review!

If this is how GOG wants to handle reviews then i cannot believe anything they say or anything any user say about a game because i cannot see ALL the reviews.
I noticed both reviews and noticed both are gone. They were horrible reviews and shouldn't be on the site.

Even negative review can be liked and kept. In fact if you look around you will find many that are.

Stupid ones, on the other hand can be removed and I see no problem with that.

Thanks i am glad you remember seeing it and you are my witness that i did not say anything bad to anyone, i did not swear etc and yet its removed. This is not how a review system should be handled, this is not a thread etc, its a review and ALL reviews should be displayed, negative or positive.

I cannot trust any reviews on GOG anymore if this is how GOG operates.
It sounds as if your 'review' was based on some vague 22 year old memories and not the GOG release.

That's a valid reason for removal by itself.

Whats your point???

The game did not change!!! Still the same game. I have seen many reviews on GOG where users even say they did not play the GOG release and review based on game they played 15 years ago.

So whats your point??? Game still the same, just different way of making it available but nothing changed.

Just that you said that you focussed on the price and some vague memories of the game. If that's the case then it's not a valid review. If others have done the same then they probably should be removed too, positive or negative.
