I gotta say, i totally forgot next week was the last episode of the whole series.
Does not feel like it's gonna end any time soon.

book99: Tyrion kills Dany. Sansa becomes ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
I think you're correct on who claims the throne.

What I think will happen is Jon confronts Dany and basically tells her he can't back a tyrant. Dany, felling completely betrayed, kills him in a fit of rage. Arya arrives on the scene and kills Dany, then turns her back on the whole political scene and disappears off into the sunset with Gendry.

Bran... Bran's been pretty much useless the last couple seasons, so he ends up n the north to become the new Winter King.

Sansa takes the throne.

Tyrion? The writing in this season has been so poor, that he'll probably end up converting Casterly Rock to a theme park. Maybe Sansa makes him the her new Hand or even marries him. Who the hell knows.

Sam becomes Sansa's new Maester.

Really it's not. Doesn't HBO have like 6 spin off shows in pre-production right now?

That'd be so freakin' annoying - everything about Sansa bothers me. She's sort of like a Cersei with a few slightly more redeeming qualities.

Huge curveball - in the books it's alluded to that the Mad King always loved Tywin's wife. In the show, several times Tywin says stuff to Tyrion to the effect of "Because you're my lawful son and I can't prove otherwise, I let you use my name..." yadda yadda yadda (why the heck say that?). I think Tywin's last words to Tyrion were like "You're no son of mine."

That'd be a wild twist.

Assuming the more obvious happens (Dany gone, Jon King) I'm more curious what happens to the dragon. Does the dragon have to die? I remember Dario telling Dany "A dragon queen with no dragons isn't a queen..." or can the dragon live and Jon takes him on as the "rightful" true Targaryn.

Also I'm sure like a lot of people, I find it super annoying they're thowing away a character 8 years in the making simply because "Targaryns be crazy yo." The intro to that episode I was like "Oh fuck they're really going to do it."

That would be a little passe.

morolf: I thought she was a fan favorite, with some people even naming their daughters after her (lol).

lolplatypus: She was a fan favourite. She was also a terrible person. That's not mutually exclusive.
It's like wrestling: you can be an asshole, but if the commentators put you over, the marks buy your merch.

Also as far as I understood it, people were naming their daughters after her title. Which is a bit hillarious.
I don't think she was a terrible person to begin with.I thnk her desire to free the slaves was sincere. I think was always torn between the desire to do good and her obsession to regain the Iron Throne. In the end, the power lust won, and it drvoe her crazy.
But yeah, that Dany had a dark ruthless side was established in Season one, but so many people were cauth up in the Beautiful Qyeen come to save the world narrative that they ignored that.
Despite seven years of undermining every meme and clidhe of Modern Day Fantasy.some people still expected this to have a Lord Of The Rings style Happy "The World Is Healed" ending. As one of the Snows said "If you think thiw will end happily, you have not been paying attention".
As for the fans who named their kids after Dany, a lot of fans are pretty damn stupid.
The writers have only 80 minutes to:
I love the fact that every single person is bitching about this season. Sorry, but this really made my day. :D
Just watched episode 5, amazing set-piece battle, but I find it funny how the strength of the dragon/s seems to change based on what the story needs. When they were fighting the Dead they didn't seem that powerful, they could shoot fire at a whole bunch of clumped up zombies but couldn't turn the tide of the battle. Yet when Dany attacks King's Landing, it's like the Dragon doesn't just shoot fire it shoots super explosive fire capable of completely shattering reinforced stone walls in a single blast, like some kinda Apache helicopter with infinite hellfire missiles.

Lord of the rings didn't really have a happy ending either, with Frodo's suffering, the passing of the elves and the subsequent decline of dwarves and hobbits as well.
Gendry Baratheon will rule seven kingdoms.
All usurpers will die.

John Snow will serve his purpose to Lord of Light and die too.
Dragon Queen: Now I am the whole ruler and a righteous heir to the Iron Throne
Jon Snow: I don't like you decision of killing so many people, but still you are my queen.
Dragon Queen: Yes, and you have to prove your loyalty, kill the dwarf and lay in bed with me.
Jon Snow: Done, but the bed is out of the table.
Dragon Queen: Than you shall die! Drakaris!
...
Jon Snow: I can't die because of dragon fire and your dragon seems to like me more now.
Dragon Queen: Oh sh!t...

I am not a fan/viewer, but i'm guessing it's akin to reading a good book only to get a cliche "the butler did it/the chosen one wins again/etc" ending or a nonsense cut to black ending like the sopran-
