CarChris: I found this one. I've downloaded it, but didn't try it to see if it works yet.

Great, thank you. I was very active back in the DF/JK days (translated the whole Jedi Knight game to german even), but I forgot about this demo. Maybe I didn't really pay much attention, preordered the Collector's Box right away.
But I played the DF1 demo so often that I managed to play the whole level (with all secrets) without getting hit once ^^

Back in the hey day of when demos were all the rage, quite a few were different in some way to the final game, if just occasionally having levels etc that got cut from the full release or the game took a different direction after the demo was made or we got a teaser prologue.

I recall that at least one Tomb Raider game had unique stuff in the demo.

It is one of the reasons I have always collected demos.

I wonder if ChatGPT might have access to that information?

Fallout Tactics demo has two unique missions (Dirt Haven and Devil's Graveyard) that're not in final version. Also Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast demo has exclusive level too (Imperial base).

Tomb Raider IV: The Times Demo is a unique tomb not available in the game, in fact... is a whole new mini adventure where you're making a job for The Times. Pretty good actually. In my opinion is better than the main game that just draaaags ooooon after the first half.
https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VIII_demo rather famously has different music from the final game, among other differences.

ppavee: Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive demo has an unique mission/map that's missing from the base game.

This was before the updated version came out a few years ago, since then it's included in the base game as an extra chapter.
Wing Commander Prophecy Demo has a three mission mini campaign, with two different versions of the final mission, complete with story and cinematics not included in the main game.

The Age of Empires demo had a fairly long campaign that was not included in the full game.
This is pretty cool. I figured it happens more than I realized. I just haven't played that many demos since the 90s.
Star Wars: Empire at War had unique scenario that didn't appeared in base game.
Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption had unique tutorial extension, that was removed in final product.

Freespace 2 had unique 2 missions. First one was quite epic, in a nebula. I remember barely destroying enemy
cruiser, when the second one jumped shortly after. On a collision cours. And my engines / thrusters were disabled.
Yeah, that demo mission was quite epic. I was little dissapointed, that they didn't appeared in the full game.

Homeworld OEM - not a DEMO per se, but it can be traced. It contain special fifth mission, where you have to destroy two
separate Turanic Raiders fleets, instead of one strong Taiidan fleet. Only 5 missions, but skirmish was OK i think.
Yooka-Laylee demo (the Toybox) has an unique level.
The Seven Kingdoms (Enlight Software) demos had maps that weren't included in the full versions.
