Perhaps I'm reading too much into the story however many stories for games are centered around science and religious conspiracy theory and conjecture.

A young man comes to find that the family he's been raised by and the providence overseeing them are on the wrong side of 'Good'

Does this parallel a world where in your brother is not your keeper, doesn't consider you at all, punishing convicts is more desirable than helping the innocent and torment and death to the guilty is encouraged more than reform and rehab...a world where what is mine is mine; even your share because I made greater effort to get to your share first?

Does one ever stop and look at the rows of meat on grocery shelves and question the ethics of the society around them or do they take it all for granted in blind faith?

Anyone else what? Thinks that the honesty is a hard thing to come by, societies are far too often manipulated towards some shady agenda, and life is generally unfair?

Well, duh!

This thought is neither new nor particularly deep. And there are many games where this frame of mind is explored (and exploited).

Actually that's a relief; usually when I go in this direction with a subject I get a mound of replies back promoting that everything is all Cotton-Candy Pony Land and those living on the skids are just doing it wrong.

I would have to agree
I think a lot of writers and authors nowadays don't have faith in society's overall awareness of itself and so, yes, preachy morals will always be embedded in entertainment media.

I finally concluded that most people ARE aware of the situation but regard it like a prison inmate would when the guy in the cell next to him begins yammering about how the penitentiary could be a magnificent place if everyone were to begin taking baby steps in practicing consideration.

The response always forced back: "DO YOU KNOW WHERE WE ARE???!!"

Well. it depends.

Do you ever consider the world where participants are eager to amass what they thought was unbeknownst to them but in reality just hover over their heads as in trying to find the ultimate solution to the question that everyone thinks needs answering, but in reality it doesn't as there are so many facets to their dilemma that one can't even fathom the idea of now believing in true self amongst the others who are not there yet? At least theoretically?

I mean, if one was to believe what one heard in the news before they were even born, how can one have faith to something that never asked for faith, but instead blew up on their face like there was no tomorrow? How can such person sleep peacefully knowing that their perceived existence is a mere fabric in the cosmic eternity that we all call life? Do we even know there is such existence, or is this all just a video game? Is this the solution in itself, or the start of something greater?
