sale price of cheap is very tempting I would usually play something like Elex on my XB1X bit its $25 or more so hmmm
looked at the DEDICATED THREAD not a whole buncha of complaints/bugs HMMMM
I played on PS4, so I can't say anything about PC bugs or eccentricities, but...

... I quite enjoyed the game once I understood that the combat is pretty dreadful (this coming from a Gothic and Risen fan). But...

... IMHO map verticality and exploration are G-R-E-A-T... and the RPG elements seemed solid. I enjoyed it a lot, but not certain that I would feel the same with M&KB.

Hasn't yet hit the price sweet spot for me to purchase again, but I will in time.

If you play it, hope you have fun.
Played the GOG version a while back and quite enjoyed it. If you've played the Gothic or Risen games then you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect in overall gameplay and game design. The world is well designed and fun to explore. Melee combat feels really janky, although ranged combat feels fairly satisfying if overpowered (especially later in the game). The game actually handles companions better than most similar games, having them both be quite useful and also able to follow extremely well (this was particularly surprising initially, considering the extent of vertical travel and exploration in the game world). Didn't run into any serious bugs during my playthrough, so that was another nice surprise considering it's a PB game.
I´m eyeing it too, but no character creation is a real turn-off for me :(

I don't think PB has ever had a character creator... always the nameless -- but fixed -- protagonist.
It's pretty good apart from the stupid locked keys!

Yeah I bought it yesterday. I figured it is from the same people as the Gothic and/or Risen games (is it?) and the price was quite agreeable without dozens of separately sold DLCs (which is nice) and I recall hearing mostly positive things about the game.

So why the heck not? To the backlog you go.

Made my day. Appreciate your comment +1 ! ;)
I played Elex (bought here on GOG) over 100 hours, and I loved it. It's not perfect though, especially the controls during combats, but overall the experience totally worth it.
It's a typical Piranha Bytes game. That means it is a bit 'janky', has a bit clumsy controls but the world-building and exploration make up for it. I enjoyed it. It's not as great as the first two Gothic games, but it is on par with Risen. At the current price you really can't go wrong.
Nah, I didn’t get far and didn’t get on with it. Risen 2 was good, risen 3 much less so.
I played the GOG version and loved it. Not much to add that others haven't already said as far as world building, controls, and exploration. Solid game, IMO.
I ought to pick this one up again eventually. I kinda stopped at the 25-hour point a while back with maybe half the map uncovered? *shrug* Runs without any issues, but the combat is still as janky as it has ever been. At least this time you can be the jetpack douche and let your companion take the brunt of enemy attacks. ;)
