A special giveaway this week, focusing entirely on the Fallout & Elder Scrolls games in celebration of the arrival of Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas to GOG.

I'm a huge fan of both of these series and was hoping to see these games released here for a long time; I asked ZeniMax/Bethesda some time ago about releasing their games here - even sending some letters asking about them a few years ago - so these were all instabuys for me. Hopefully it won't be too long before we see Skyrim and Fallout 4 here as well, plus the likes of Dishonored etc. :)

As I now use Linux & these games run well in Wine I put together some Wine wrappers to make them easy to play on Linux, joining the wrappers I released last month for Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics:

Oblivion for Linux
Fallout 1 + 2 + Tactics for Linux
Fallout 3 for Linux
Fallout: New Vegas for Linux
(for Morrowind I recommend using OpenMW)

As usual I'd like to encourage anyone who's even a little bit interested in Linux to take a look at the beginner's guide I wrote & perhaps give Linux a try: The "Try Linux" Repost/Rewrite (a "beginner's guide")
Linux Mint 18.2 should be officially released in about a month or so & I plan to update the guide after that has launched.

To enter, simply post here listing what you're entering for in order of preference. Using Linux is not a requirement for entering the giveaway.

The giveaway will run until Thursday 15th June at 20:00 UTC. Due to problems with downrepping in previous giveaways, the winners will *not* be publicly revealed unless they decide to do so themselves.

Rules:
- No rep requirement but I reserve the right to disqualify entries at my discretion.
- Winners will be selected randomly after the giveaway ends
- Each winner will receive one prize - whichever of the remaining prizes is their most preferred.
- Please only enter for games that you don't already have.
- Please only enter for games that your system can run.
- Please only enter for games that you're interested in, intend to play & won't just let rot in a backlog.
- Keys are for your own use only/not to be traded (except for leftovers/duplicates from multi-game keys which may be re-gifted but not traded)
- Anything not redeemed within one week after being awarded may be given to another entrant or reused for a future giveaway.

Holy shit! That's a fantastic giveaway!! I'm not in ... because I have them all already!

I've currently got Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Oblivion installed using your wine wrapper scripts. The scripts worked perfectly on my Arch 64 bit install, and all of the games are working. I haven't managed to put a whole lot of time into any of them, so I can't comment too much on how well they all run in WINE.

I myself have done a series of giveaways over the years and i have never before seen something like this post of his, like ever: I hate resorting to the same lowly tactics others do, but hey, my policy has always been, treat others however they treat you. Great giveaway though, really glad people keep the old tradition, not inside, thanks.

Anything includes giveaways, which is exactly what i posted and you downrepped. Proud of it, also, exactly as you announce inside it. People with pride and self-respect, always have the guts to admit. Or at least come up with valid/convenient, arguments/excuses. Are you even reading your very own posts, like the one i just quoted?

That would be the case, had the giveaway been yours. I am simply warning the kind and generous OP about exactly what he doesn't like... Giveaway downreppers. And low reputation score. I never bothered myself with rep, but others do. Judging by your stance here and in my giveaway, they do so with good reason and i myself, am a fool not to be picky and prudent, just like them...
